Can I buy an item from my chronicle sheet between games, without any GM input?

Pathfinder Society

Radiant Oath

Or do I need to log the purchase as part of a downtime activity with a GM? Like a lot of people, I'm playing online with a different GM every time, and I'm not sure how this works.

I want to buy the poisonous dagger from the Beginner Box, Game Master's Guide, pg 51 for 150gp. It's for a 4th level wizard, to be used in combination with Hand of the Apprentice.

You just need to record it somewhere, in case any future GM asks to audit you.

Personally, I use a spreadsheet for my own use, but also record my items and gold spent on my Chronicle Sheets for ease of GMs.

A GM does NOT have to witness or sign off on you purchasing anything.

Pathfinder Society uses a combination of character sheets, Chronicles, and record trackers to chart character progression. GMs and event coordinators rely on these documents to keep the campaign honest, fair, and fun for everyone. It is your responsibility to maintain accurate records. Always bring either paper or digital copies of your character sheet and supporting documentation such as Chronicles and record trackers of any character you wish to play to Pathfinder Society events. If using paper copies, we suggest keeping them all together in a binder, with a folder for each character.

If you cannot produce the supporting documents for your character, the GM can ask you to play a pregenerated character instead.

Purchases do have to noted on a chronicle but don't require GMs to sign. Same thing for when items are sold.

When I GM I provide a space for characters to record purchases and sales.

This is for 2e. 1e and SFS do require more GM interactions.

Just record it in the chronicle sheet

That restriction was removed. As long as the player keeps a record of their purchases, and that record can be supplied to the GM in a comprehensible manner, the player can use whatever for of recording is easiest for them.

This was an attempt to make the game more accessible to a broader range of players.

Good to know. For me, I use the chronicles.
