Spider animal companion?

Pathfinder Second Edition General Discussion

Been looking over the options and there seem to be no available spider option in 2nd edition, would that be a later option i wonder?

I know you could easily just refluff the scorpion to work out the same deal, but i have always prefered something that is written down and a option no matter the table i play on.

Its kind of weird that its missing as a option in my opinion.

Verdant Wheel

Hmm...

How many Familiar Abilities are we working with?

OP is talking about Animal Companions.

I wonder why Paizo didn't created flexibles rules to Animal Companion like they did to Familiars.

Probably because the specific abilities tied to each animal companion are important build concerns where familiars can be more wibbly wobbly.

Spiders don't exist now because page space isn't infinite but that's certainly an animal that could exist in the future, would just need the right book for it (possibly an Underdark book?).

I reflavored a scorpion to by my druid's "spider" companion. It's not perfect but it works for me.

If you aren't involved in PFS or the like, it should be pretty straightforward to stat up a proper spider companion with your GM.

I know i could easily reflavor or houserule in a spider myself, but i guess i like to make every character concept i have "PFS ready" as its easier to take them with me to games without arguing for my case or do compromises or similar deals with the current GM.

Made this thread a bit to point out how weird how the spider is missing considering it was a core book choice in 1st edition, and i hope there is some news if there is more companion choices available soon?
