I don't think so, at least no one has come to say they got shipping notice. Last we heard was they were delaying to 'fix' the shipping issues that have been going on for months. Here's hoping they can fix them, but I definitely wouldn't mind an update.

Has shipping actually started yet? I note the dates part of the OP here hasn't been updated.
We haven't started shipping subscriptions just yet because we want to make sure we get the shipping issues that customers have reported taken care of before doing so.
I know it's frustrating and inconvenient, especially since I don't have an ETA to give at the moment, but I'll try to update as I get more information!

Thanks for the update. Looking forward to having my subscription order shipped ^^ I hope it will happen this week.

Thanks, Raychael. "Waiting is" as the Martian said. (If you don't know what that means, find and read Robert Heinlein's 1961 novel Stranger In A Strange Land, which won the 1962 Hugo Award for best science fiction novel, and which the Library of Congress in 2012 named one of 88 "Books that Shaped America").

I've just checked my subscription order for March and it shows a $37.80 shipping & handling fee for just the Bestiary 3 and Abomination Vaults #3 with the "cheapest method" option selected.
Is this really the current standard fee for sending books from the USA to Europe (Belgium in my case) or are you still working on the issues about shipping costs and there is a chance that those numbers might be wrong?
I really want to support Paizo (and I have been trying to do so for the last 11 years) but those fees (shipping fees + import taxes) are really making it hard, sadly turning subscriptions into a very poor option all things considered.

Hi Dalvyn,
We haven't started shipping out subscriptions yet due to some shipping errors (specifically, erroneously high shipping charges, like you've mentioned). We're actively working on addressing this and I'll let you know as soon as I have an update!

Hum... I got a shipping email. Was that a mistake or the problem was resolved?
Note: My shipment was split in 3, and nothing changed, only the bestiary was ship based on the mail.
Huh. I hope that's just an erroneous notification. Does it have a tracking number (if that is available)

They might be starting to send shipments that don't seem to be affected? Given that this month's shipment has already eaten a week of their breathing room, and we're three days after the second estimated shipping start period with no copies sent out... That wouldn't shock me.

So here's a question, did your pdf spawn?

Sounds like it! They commented on the art in a Discord. Probably too busy sinking in to respond

Sorry for the hit and run. Yes, I have! And well... My shipment was split into 3, and now the order page is all weird, but it's always weird when multiple shipments are not all done. :X
And no tracking, I'm Canadian, and no tracking on international shipping.
From what I skimmed of the book, the bestiary 3 is awesome! :3
The troops are... interesting. :O

Same here. I got a mail saying that the package has been sent, and I can now access the PDFs (yay for that!).
The shipping fees remain the same as what I mentioned above ($37.80 just for the Bestiary + Abomination Vaults 3). So, all things considered, I expect to have to pay this $37.80 shipping fee + around 30€ of import taxes for an order worth $59.98.
I would like to hope that the shipping fees are wrong and that it is not "the cheapest method", but I cannot be sure.
(Also, thank you for our answer earlier Raychael!)

Same here, Bestiary 3 + AV 3 order has been processed and finalized for shipment, can no longer be altered. I can download the PDFs.
Shipping to Austria (Europe) as one package with $37.80 shipping and handling. I too will likely have to pay import taxes around €25.
Ironically, for me it might have been cheaper, if Paizo had split the package, as then the import taxes might not occur.
Ah well. One day there will be a digital subscription and I'm going to stop collecting paper I mostly just open once.

Would it be cheaper for you in Europe to buy a pdf version when it comes out and then but a paper copy from your local game store?
Probably true, but if you also have the legacy advantage you would lose the 15% off of other products and that gets weighed in the balance.
But man, international shipping sucks all the way around. Worse now than I have seen before.

It mostly depends on how many and which lines you are subscribed to, and how the local post office handles imports.
In my case for example,
That depends on where around the world you ship to and how stringent the post office and tax department are and how much the charge: depending on the value and content of the package I sometimes don't have to pay import taxes (there is a catalogue of items and minimal values before tax applies, books have a higher minimum value than merchandise or games in Austria). If I have to pay VAT, it's 20% of the value (which would be fair and totally fine) + a 10€ flat fee from the post office (which is ... high, but other countries charge more, so)
Also: Ease of use. I can set up a sub, and don't need to manage the purchase of PDFs every month. Bonus: sometimes you get access to the PDF before street date (always has been irregular, but in the last year it didn't happen as often as before).
I suspect this thread is as true today as it was 9 years ago:
Subscriptons for PDF only
Oh, I know. I just think and hope that, with the current situation and the push to digital tabletops, this option can be re-evaluated.
I doubt anything in this regard will happen 2021 or 2022, but maybe by 2025 rulebooks start getting a digital sub.Society scenarios and bountys/quests, as well as one-shots are pure digital right now, but only the scenarios have a sub option. I hope this gets expanded.

Dalvyn |

A Europe-based Paizo warehouse or re-sender might be another solution, but it does not seem that Paizo is interested in going that way. (Maybe there aren't enough European subscribers for that to be a viable solution, I don't know.)
Also, yes, it would most likely be cheaper to order the PDF and buy the physical books locally but, in addition to everything that has been said above, I would also rather support Paizo as much as I can by buying everything directly from them.

Yoshua |

With reports of subs being shipped I am wondering if the flood gates were opened or if they are releasing individual orders as they are checked...?
(also hoping that now that I have posted the obligatory questions that mine gets released :D )

I think you're likely correct. It seems to me that Paizo are moving more into digital publishing (with the recent release of one off modules and the shift from books to PDFs in the Pathfinder Tales line.
I suspect digital subscriptions are a way off but only a matter of time.

Hi again folks!
I meant to respond here yesterday, but ending up not getting a chance to.
We were able to determine that the shipping issues were NOT widespread to the point of affecting every subscription generated order (yay!), so we were able to start shipping out subscription orders yesterday afternoon-ish and have continued throughout today.
Those of you with erroneous shipping charges are still in the process of being worked on and, while the hope is that we'll have a permanent fix for those errors in the near-future, those orders are currently being fixed manually.

Yeah, the first chapter was by blog, the rest were emailed.
There’s going to be a way to buy the whole novella, but it doesn’t look like it will be in hardcopy.

Raychael, When you have time can you take a look at my shipment. It went out but in 4 Packages, and confused about Package 2 and 3 since they are single items shipping by themselves. Unsure how that was cheaper then it going either together with each other or with Package 4.

Interesting. All my PF stuff (16 items, 14 lbs.) in one package, all my SF stuff (2 items, 1 lb.) in another. Total shipping $11.43 after the ten dollar discount. Standard mail, it says. I *think* my prefs are still set to "cheapest method". I suspect putting it all in one package would have bumped the shipping significantly (which means it would have been above $21.43 before the discount). Oh, and I just got my shipping notice a couple hours ago. :-)

Ed Reppert |

Well spotted!
Hm. Is there any difference between the pdfs for the regular rulebooks and the ones for the special edition rulebooks? I have both subs and I don't recall any differences, other than the cover binding.

Ed Reppert |

I think you can add a week to the end date at the top of this thread, since both the authorization and the beginning of shipping were about a week later than the posted dates. Which would make this coming Friday hopefully the last day of shipping.

They had a bad experience using a European distributor back in the magazine days.

If our sub order was complete on the 25th, but still isn't showing up under the tracking, should we be concerned? Or is there still weirdness this month with the tracking being off?

Ed Reppert |

Hm. Both my sub packages were shipped on the 26th. Tracking shows them both still in Fife, WA as of yesterday. Four days to get from Redmond to Fife? 37.5 miles. On an Interstate. Using, I guess, Halfling porters. :-)

David knott 242 |

My order shipped fairly early on Monday and still has no tracking info. The tracking info page says to contact the shipper (Paizo, in this case) if there is still no tracking info after three days.
So kcunning: I should not yet do anything, but you should since your three days have elapsed, even if we ignore Saturday and Sunday for that purpose.
