Howdy.
So Field Dressing biohacker theorem Other biohackers, do you like this thereom? Why or why not?
I can not decide if I like it or not. It feels like its a pretty hard sell for INT based ones compared to Healing Serums. Even with the Medic archetype its a bit hard sell since you have to be next to the target. (Unless melee biohacker of course-though then a standard action out in the open in middle of a melee is high cost).
Wis based ones who heal stamina might have a bit better time maybe? Since its easier to use in battle. But even then it feels a bit of a hard sell for it.
Even past that, it always always felt so disconnected from the class to me. It doesn't interact with anything really-other than the microlab med kit. it also would probably require having free hands for that kit I imagine? Not sure on that one. but it basically has no interaction with the class features or how the class is played it feels like. I've never actually taken it yet, just thought about it and then tried to pay attention and find times I'd actually use it. Generally it feels like a "back pocket out of battle quick top off" when we don't have the time to heal/stamina rest. Which just feels disappointing for a theorom?
I've often wondered. Why wouldn't this work like MEdicinal Mastery--and be a pool of Biohacker style Healing Serums you could hand out, or use in an Injection weapon. Basically a starfinder version of the INjectable Triague med kits they have now. Like the XStat. or this one. Blood and slab of meat warning
So. I'd love folks thoughts on the theorom or stories for folks who used it well.
As a secondary consideration. I wonder does anyone see any issues if it instead worked like Medicinal Mastery? You create the listed amount per day, which you could then hand out to your crew, or keep loaded to shoot at your allies and heal them.

Definitely not a fan. Thats not enough hit points to be worth your action as opposed to the prevenative medicine of shooting something in the face. For an occasional hit point restorer, there's no reason you can't jab the party with healing serums instead (especially since you need to be adjacent to them anyway)

Think it would be more worth it if it was a pool of "biohacker serum" that you could hand out, or use in an injection weapon?
Since then others could use it at their preference, or you could shoot it longer range at least.
hate that my biohacker can't heal particularly well outside of med checks. Though he rocks those. Probably my break in brain between "biology scientist guy" and "doctor guy"

The non magical healing abilities in starfinder are very weak compared to the magical ones and not that great compared to a needle gun full of healing serums.
