Eldritch Archer - Setting an Undesirable Precedent?

I am amused by the idea that daze not dealing much damage is a negative against it in the statement just before "I'd make it do even less damage" is involved in a proposed "fix"

Seems pretty weird to me, though, to have the following changes and call it an improvement:

critical success no effect -> no effect
success half of a small pool of damage -> no effect
failure a small pool of damage -> no damage, slow 1 for 1 round
critical failure double a small pool of damage and stunned 1 -> "minimal damage" (whatever that means) and stunned 1.

It's 3 points that effectiveness is reduced, and only 1 point at which anything is given back... and it's not a very impressive 1 thing.
