Misfires on Dragon's Breath Cartridge

Pathfinder First Edition General Discussion

The Concordance

UC pg.140:"Because this ammunition forces a saving throw instead of making an attack roll, the misfire rules are slightly different. If you roll a 1 with either of the damage dice, the firearm misfires." However, Dragon's Breath Cartridges do not need attack roll.
So, when misfires, the Dragon's Breath Cartridge will deal normal damage and break the firearm or deal no damage and break the firearm?

Another Question

Chemical Stability(discovery of Gun Chemist,PotW pg.11): When firing an alchemical ordnance, the gun chemist reduces the misfire value of the firearm by 1 (minimum 0) and ignores any increased misfire value from using an alchemical cartridge.

If a Gun Chemist use Dragon's Breath Cartridge, can he reduces the misfire value to 0 ?

The gun chemist question is unfortunately easy. The DB cartridge misfires when either damage dice is a 1 regardless of the misfire value. Chemical stability doesn't help.

For the other

misfires wrote:
If the natural result of your attack roll falls within a firearm’s misfire value, that shot misses, even if you would have otherwise hit the target. When a firearm misfires, it gains the broken condition.

A dragon's breath cartridge doesn't miss or hit. It'll do damage, though with at least one of the damage dice being a 1 not a lot of damage. And the firearm will break, or explode if it's already broken.

The Concordance

Sounds reasonable. Thank you.
