Not long ago, we mentioned that we are working on an NPC Codex-style book titled the Book of Beasts: Character Codex. That post has a poll where you can vote on some of the classes that will be covered inside. Read that post to find out more details about that upcoming book and subscription to help us produce the book.

The first in the subscription covers warpriests. Today, we are sharing with you one of the warpriests detailed in this book. Read all about it at the JBE Blog. The odd-numbered levels are a build that you would expect from the class.

Check out all of our 1e Pathfinder books at the JBE Shop, DriveThruRPG, Paizo, and the Open Gaming Store.

These look really cool. I'd always wished Paizo would release an NPC Codex 2.

Magus and Witch are two definite buys for me.

We had a mishap with the DriveThruRPG version (totally my fault). You can download it here.

Thank you. Magus is next. I'm hard at work on that one as I type.

Jon Brazer Enterprises

The Book of Beasts: Magus Codex has been turned over to the editors for our first round of editing. This was a lot of fun, but a whole lot of work as well. This will be the next in the subscription with witches scheduled to be next.

Love, love, love that this project is proceeding. I do hope that when it is all said and done, that a digest size POD option will be available. I'd love to have it sitting on my shelf next to my Pocket Edition NPC Codex.

If I have to, I'll get my six-year-old to make puppy dog eyes.

Thanks Dale. Can't wait to see it.

With tomorrow's release of the Book of Beasts: Magus Codex , we're sharing one of the NPCs within today. Check out the Helltouched Archer at the JBE Blog .

So how's the next Codex going? Just curious.

Jon Brazer Enterprises

Witches is next. It is in the editing process.

I know this is taking a long time for each, but we're picky. We want to make sure every detail is right, that every concept is spot on, every execution makes sense, and every NPC is one you'll want to use. We're debating back and forth about various magic items, spells, archetypes, and hex choices, trying to make each the best we can for each NPC.

Quick update: the Book of Beasts: Witch Codex is in layout. With any luck it will be done by Halloween. Timing is purely coincidental. I swear. This is not part of our wily master plan that don't have.

I like the cover art. That's one happy witch.

Several of the NPC's fit well in my current game, thanks!

    John,

Thanks for developing these. I have use the Warpriest one a few times already. Plan on getting the Witch and Magus.

I forget but what is the development plan for the other classes? Was Swashbuckler on there?

The plan for the full subscription is: alchemist, arcanist, bloodrager, brawler, cavalier, hunter, magus, oracle, slayer, swashbuckler, warpriest, and witch classes.

    Outstanding!

So Warpriest, Magus, Witch are completed. Which one is next? I was looking through the blog (I am sure it is in there) but I can't find it :). Honestly all of them interest me but Swashbuckler and Hunter are ones I am really interested in...well maybe alchemist as well :)

    That will work as well!

Reading through the Magus. Enjoyed the Helltouched Archer and the Back Alley Avenger. The Aerobatic Spellsword (Talandrea I think) seems like a really good encounter. I actually jotted some notes down about her as a reminder for one of my campaigns.

Planning to ambush my players with an orc witch and a bunch of orc slayers on their way to Turtleback Ferry using reskinned NPCs from this series on Sunday. Should be fun.

I ambushed my 5 level 6 players on a river crossing (ambush sites map) with 3 CR4 Poisoners, a CR5 Special Operative archer and a CR7 Tidewater Witch, who I had repeatedly popping above the water to cast before sinking back below the water (slight rule cheat, but made the encounter more interesting.) It was a really fun, and pretty tough, encounter.
