The line in question is
Otherwise, this ability functions as the mystic’s spells class feature, including the ability to decipher magical inscriptions.
This implies to me that I'm a spellcaster for the purposes of using Spell Gems. Am I understanding Magical Expertise correctly? What also catches me is that it doesn't explicitly say that we treat the Mystic's spell list as our own. I assume we do given the nature of the class feature, but I'm curious if I'm interpreting it in a weird way.
By extension, would the class feature also meet the prerequisite for the Mystic Strike feat and the Esotericist archetype? I assume yes for the former, but based on Esotericst's wording I could see an argument for no on it.

The class feature says you gain a limited version of the “mystic’s spells class feature” last paragraph left hand side also states your spellcastering ability is for CHA not wisdom. You have to be a spell caster to use spell gems so this qualify.
At the top right of the page it does state what level of Mystic spell we get at 1, 5, 9, 13, and 17. So yes it does specify the mystic spell list.
Mystic Strike- yes we can cast spell you would qualify
Esotericist- If I was GMing, yes but I’d also limit the options they had at each esotericist level a bit more.

Only spellcasters are capable of using spell gems—if you aren’t a spellcaster, you’re unable to make use of the knowledge that the gem unlocks. You don’t need to know the spell within a spell gem to use it, but the spell must be on your class’s spell list (or have otherwise been added to your spell list) and you must have a high enough key ability score to cast it. If the spell gem’s item level is higher than your caster level, once you’ve spent the full casting time of the spell, you must succeed at a caster level check with a DC equal to the spell gem’s item level + 1 or you fail to cast the spell. If you fail to cast a spell from a spell gem, the spell remains within the gem and you can attempt to use it again.
SPELLS
You cast spells drawn from the mystic spell list (see page 336).
Looks solid to me, Magical Expertise gives you access to spell gems as if you were a mystic.
Mystic Strike just requires you to be able to cast spells, they don't specifically have to be mystic spells. A technomancer would also qualify. An envoy who can cast spells is also sufficient.
The Esotericist requires the "spells" class feature. You have a version of the spells class feature; it's limited, but the limitations are spelled out specifically, and it doesn't prohibit Esotericist.

I was considering playing this (an Envoy with Mystic Expertise) but I had a few questions about it:
1) Does your Charisma in any way influence your Spells per Day?
2) If you have a Priest Theme, do you get the level 1 Spell added to your spell list when you reach level 12?
3) Are you considered a Mystic for purposes of the Connection Linking Feat.
4) Are you considered a member of a Spellcasting Class for purposes of the Eldritch Lore line of feats or the Adaptive Casting Feat?
