Improved Familiar & Zhyen

Hey. At what level do you have to be to get the Improved Familiar feat to get an Air Zhyen? According to Hero Lab I can do it at 1st level. Is this right? Thanks

The book they are from presents them poorly, it is missing some of the crucial information. It also lists them with a level adjustment field, so they were likely written with 3.5 rules still in mind (though they also have CMB/CMD so things are murky there too).
They require a "powerful spellcaster" - though this isn't defined at all.

Based on their power level, they seem to fit between 3rd and 5th level improved familiars, so you would probably have to talk to your GM about it.

By Raw Zhyen are not on the improved familiar list, so unless you are 6th level in the Daivrat prestige class, you couldn't take it.

If you're ignoring that rule....
Since you have to be a 6th level in the Daivrat prestige class, which requires you to have 3rd level spells to enter, I would say you'd atleast have to be 11th level to take a Zhyen as a familiar.
