TOS 2nd CORE edition is an extremely powerful Excel workbook that automates the creation and maintenance of Characters by taking care of the rules as much as possible, so you can focus on gaming, and not on adding numbers! Q: Will I be getting updates of this product?
A: Absolutely! If you purchase from a Store, then they will contact you when they have processed the updates. If you get the Subscription, you will be able to get updates directly on the forum as they are released. For instance, the initial release does not yet have Custom class and Ancestries available, but that will be added very soon (and might already be added when you read this...)(We estimate that this will be done in early September 2019)
Q: Can I create custom effects, like I could in other Character Managers published by The only Sheet?
A: Yes! TOS 2nd CORE edition has the same powerful ability to create custom effects. For example, you could create a Magical HAT that grants Legendary rank in Perception, adds +2 to your Intelligence, and increases your Land Speed by +5'! Nice Hat! LOL! You can also create magical weapons and Armors just by granting them the Runes you wish!

This is potentially very useful and I'm happy to have purchased it, just for the utility of the number checking if nothing else.
I haven't played with it much, but it does seem like there could just be 5 weapons on the front page, which would give more room for the explanation of the traits.
I'm looking forward to testing more, though!
I love the idea but the product page could really use some screenshots of the sheet in action. Also: Is there a print version of the sheet and how does that look?
Sadly, the print version has tiny type. It is clear and well organized, but I play mostly with people whose eyes just aren't as sharp as they used to be.
Granted, it looks good, but it is just too damn little. I could really use a version of this that has more pages and larger font.
Even so much as having a 1st page for Exploration with stats, skills, and a feat list, a 2nd page for Encounters with saves, offenses and defenses, and then the summary page would be great so that the font could be more like 11 point through the whole document.
A lot of work went into this and it is clearly mostly done, but it just doesn't meet my needs for a document to actually print and play at the table.
Also I'm not sure how making a custom background is supposed to work, but that might be in their forums.

TOS 2nd CORE edition is meant to be printed - either on Paper or in a PDF file if used electronically. Of course, you can also use it directly if you have access to Excel at your gaming table.
Sadly, the print version has tiny type. It is clear and well organized, but I play mostly with people whose eyes just aren't as sharp as they used to be.
Tiny type is used only in the description of fields (i.e. the tiny "titles" of boxes. Once you know what's in the box itself, you don't need to refer to that text anymore.
For example, above the Attack bonus for a weapon there is "Attack" written in small font.... yet you probably know why your Dagger has a big +5 besides it :)Check the Preview images I added to see what I mean)
Being in that group of people (with lower than average eyesight), I made sure I could read it *myself*.
Also I'm not sure how making a custom background is supposed to work, but that might be in their forums.
Correct - Build 1.1.910 fixes the Custom background issue that was present in build 1.1.908. I'll send the Update to Paizo so they can start processing it.
I'm also currently working on enabling custom Classes/Ancestries...

As for the tiny type, I bought your page and printed a test copy last night.
The FRONT page is basically fine, but a touch squint worthy. The BACK page is tiny and a bit more difficult. I think the font size on that on is 8 point.
Don't get me wrong, I think your product is a solid four stars. The only things that are making it miss a star right now are the font size and the sheet layout, which is a personal thing and should not say anything about the quality of your work.
Oh, and if at all possible please make it so when you have a drop-down open you can type what you are looking for and it will bring you to it. Scrolling through every feat in the game is a bit of a trick.

The Font is Arial 10, but might be different because of the scaling to 'fit'the page...

I think it would be quite doable to add a way to increase/decrease the Font Size on the BACK worksheet.... It should be simple enough, and allow for a larger font for those who need it - and also smaller font size for those who have a ton of information to display!! I'll look into it! :D

The Excel control don't allow that (as far as I know), but I suggest you start using the Quick Picks! They are a much faster way to choose stuff and they are pretty much available for all 'large' lists of items! When a list is expanded, you can type the first letter to jump to the first occurrence of that letter...!
All in all, I'd rather use this than HeroLab online.

Many years ago I use TOS. I went to Hero Lab, but since they went to a Pay to use for 6 months model, I may go back to TOS

The current plan is:
From online Stores, you'll be getting the upgrade to allow the creation of custom classes (already completed work on this!!) and ancestries (working on this now). After that, if any game-breaking problem is reported, there is a high probability that I'll upgrade the Store version to correct such an issue. No. It is not the goal of this Tool to replace the CORE Rulebook. I suggest you refer to the rules to determine what fits your Character design, then simply select it in the Sheet. In any case, I don't think the people at Paizo would appreciate it if TOS 2nd CORE edition would be a replacement for the published Rulebook. I choose not to travel that road with my business partners.

First, say I want to pick up a subscription after all. Is there any consideration for buying the stand alone file? It might be too difficult to validate an off site purchase, so I'm not really expecting that this is a thing that can be done.
Second, there seems to be a creative community adding custom material. Is it possible that someone might be able to make a variant of the actual character sheet layout?
The sheet you've made is quite serviceable, but it would be interesting to see how someone else might put a different print layout together.

This latest build fixes reported issues with Familiar, upgrades the Familiar's ability description and improves the Animal Companion worksheet. A few other bugs have also been squashed!!

NOW available: TOS 2nd CORE edition v1.2.087 with DYNAMIC PLAY!
I have released a major update to TOS 2nd CORE edition which features a new DashBoard worksheet that allows you to play DYNAMICALLY during a gaming session! This means you can apply Spells, Conditions and even the other Character's abilities (things like Inspire Courage from your friendly Bard) directly onto your OWN character!
The effects of the spell/condition/ability will automatically be applied to your Character, and you'll be ready to continue playing in the blink of an eye! Since TOS 2nd CORE edition has a FULL implementation of the stacking rules, you won't need to worry about the various bonuses or penalties applied to your Character. The Sheet handles all of them!
Multiple trackers on the DashBoard sheet can be used to track things such as wands, or even an ability with limited daily use. Your weapon load out is fully displayed so you always know your options. Use the Damage or the Heal buttons to track your Hit Points loss and gain. All the core information like your Skills, your Saves and your Armor Class are displayed in plain view.
For a good introduction on how to use the Dashboard sheet, check out the TOS FIVE Tutorial video, starting at 02:14 (here) - Both Dashboards in TOS FIVE and TOS 2nd CORE edition are practically identical!
Note that you can still use the Print outs for your Character should you prefer that mode of play! Effects that you activate on the DashBoard will also be applied in the Printouts!

I have the same thing in My Downloads... a 161 byte .zip file!!I told Paizo about it yesterday... AND even told them they would cause issues for clients [wow I'm a clairvoyant! lol] (see below). I am hoping they'll get around to it as soon as possible... *crossing fingers*

I downloaded my product form your site: TOS 2ND CORE EDITION (DOWNLOAD) 161 bytes
As you can see, it shows as 161 bytes in MY DOWNLOADS....!!
The .zip file has the file TOS 2ND V1.2.087.XLSB, but that file is EMPTY!! (size = 0 bytes instead of 2.61 megs)
Please fix before you send this out to Customers...!

I just updated Paizo with version 1.3.140, which is the December 17th 2019 version; it is the very latest build available as I write this!
Users will receive an update notification once Paizo has processes it (I do not know the delay for that, as it is in their hands now)
I added FOUR level 1 Iconic Characters in the archive: Wizard, Fighter, Rogue and Cleric.
Check the Release Notes for all the details of this update, and any previous updates as well!
