Drake Companion - Size Increase Modifiers

Monster advancement states:
Tiny to Small +4 str, -2 dex, same con
Small to Medium +4, -2, +2
Medium to Large +8, -2, +4

However, Drake Companion states:

The drake matures further and advances a size category when the charge reaches 5th level and every 4 levels thereafter. Each time this occurs, the drake’s natural armor bonus to its AC increases by 2, its natural attacks increase in damage based on the new size category, and it gains the following ability scores adjustments: Str +4, Dex –2, Con +2.

How do I interpret this?

Ignore monster advancement when it comes to anything player related. Even our beloved pets. That's only for the GM, to advance NPCs.

Use the actual Drake companion rules for the Drake companion.
