So I've just received the order notification for my subscriptions, but also noticed that the shipping cost is $28.44, for 3 lbs. Can you please confirm that this is, in fact, the cheapest option? It seems like a massive increase over similarly weighted orders.

That is the correct shipping cost provided by the postal service. It is the cheapest shipping option I see available for this order.
I looked at some of your previous orders using the same shipping method to compare and it matches the scaling trend of those other orders. Order 7968182 was 2 lbs. and was $18.63. Order 7919067 was 1 lb. and was $8.77.
