He is proficient with Arcane and Divine but doesn't have the skill for either. I expected him to have something like CD Yoon that has CHA+0. Poor guy will be rolling a d4 for recharge for his divine spells and d6 for arcane. Also he wont be able to use anything that actually uses those skills, such as any attack spell or firesnake.
Why the hate?

And the Skaldman blew his horn and shouted to the hordes of the enemy:
"Fear me. Why should I care about recharging spells is you can get shiny brand new ones each scenario :-) ?"It's all in the roleplay...

Also, remember that Hakon’s card-swapping power means he WANTS those spells in his discards (like the Lems of old). Want to cure every turn? As long as has draws any spell, he can get the Cure back. Want to scout more? Grab that Detect Evil back into your hand. You’re trading the extra “HP” of recharging for the utility of having the right spell available for the situation (once you’ve played it at least one time).

Remember: if he doesn't have the skill, he rolls a d4 for the check. So, even though he has an intelligence of d6, he's still rolling a d4 for his arcane check.
Yea over site, forgot that even the recharges dont list wisdom or intelligence.
I can understand it from a design stand point. He has a d10+2 for combat. If you look at him as a fighter with the arcane and divine skills its kind of bad ass. Roleplaying and lore wise, if I was Hakon i would feel little cheated.

There are lots of great support spells that Hakon can make use of. And since he discards them all (no chance of recharging without spending serious resources) That cure or Aid is usually in the discard pile to snatch up whenever he needs to get it back. Also, the acid spell that does a flat 3d6+9 and works on multiple checks is perfect for him in those cases where he's caught without a weapon or fighting something that does not like to be hit with melee. We are on adventure 5 of CotCT and finding him to be great at holding his own and supporting the party too.
