As a Starfinder AP Subscriber - if I preorder the Starfinder Beginner Box, will I get the Beginner Box PDF free?

I'm not customer service, but the product pages say you have to be a Starfinder RPG Subscriber (the rulebook line) to get the PDF free with a preorder.

Hello Glen,

Joana got it right. In order to get the Beginner Box PDF free, you have to have an active (meaning that the subscription has already shipped an item) Starfinder Roleplaying Game subscription. This is the one that send you the hardcover rulebooks.

The AP subscription, unfortunately does not work to get the free PDF when preordering the Starfinder Beginner box.

Thanks Sam. I will be ordering it elsewhere, then. The earlier ship time does not outweigh the shipping costs in terms of value. A free PDF might have. Now I will probably buy it from my FLGS.

Just ordered mine. Does it generate a PDF at the same time it ships, just like a regular subscription item? Or would I need to make another CS inquiry when it does?

Hello Ionejedi,

The PDF should be granted automatically when it ships. We are noticing that it's being a bit pickier than it should to determine if something was "preordered" and may fail to grant the PDF if it thinks that your Starfinder Beginner Box wasn't preordered in time (as far as I can tell, it is considering the preorder window to have ended when we began shipping this months subscription options, but we want to honor the preorder until the actual street date of the item). So long as you ordered it before the street date, and have the Starfinder Roleplaying Game subscription active when it ships, we'll make sure you get the PDF.

Please let us know if the PDF doesn't show up with the Beginner Box ships, and we'll help out. Thank you!

My shipment just triggered and the Subscription items onboard have generated PDFs on my account, but not the SF Beginner set. Is this the right time for me to let you know?? ;)

Absolutely. If it didn't grant automatically it's definitely having some technical issues recognizing the item was appropriately preordered to receive the PDF. I have ensured that the PDF has been granted to your account. You should now see it in your digital assets.
