I am building a character who is a Half Giant using a cannon as a two handed firearm.
Can I use Blast Shot ammo and Vital Strike together? Blast shot uses language very similar to the scatter firearm quality but specifically ISN'T scatter as there are also numerous differences, particularly the absence of any language about not including extra damage from precision, vital strike, etc the way scatter does. In fact it even says "it deals it's normal damage on a hit".
Any rules interpretations or even just opinions are welcome.

This is just my opinion, as you said, they are welcomed. If I were you, just ask the GM/DM, whatever they want to be called in your group, their opinion on this. If they allow it, congratz! If not, sorry. Personally, I find it an interesting idea. However, looking at the numbers, not sure if I could allow it if I were running a game.
You are correct, the language is similar in some way, yet, towards the end, they are completely different. Also, one thing that could tip the balance, what is the other half of your character? Also, which giant is the other half? If it's human or human sized, I'm thinking this won't work. I'll explain using this link to show comparison.

Storm Giant: 19-24 Feet tall, that's the biggest.
Hill Giant: 9-13 Feet tall, being the smallest.
So, if you character is in the range of 7-10 feet tall, I would question if they were big enough, or strong enough, to pick up a cannon. Now if they were half Storm Giant, guessing they would be between 8-12 feet tall, but again, depends on the other half, I would think.
This really seems like a question for your GM, really. Not sure if the rules get into that much detail. Personally, I enjoy a bit of realism mixed with my fantasy games. Please post what you end up doing. Curious to find out what your GM thinks of this. Best of luck!
