Incredibly swingy. Sometimes you dominate, sometimes you get wrecked without much chance to respond. It’s very much in the “random chance will screw you, don’t get attached to any particular survivor” style of play. Which is easy because the survivors don’t have much to them, it’s really all about the gear. You really feel the loss of prized gear more than any individual survivor. (Not to say you won’t have characters you are fond of, mostly due to ridiculous circumstances they survive). The gore is over the top and the rules are unfair, so when you manage to triumph it feels extra special.

Just me problems.
"Oh, character A will give character B a green gemstone. Emerald is cliche. But chrysoberyl and tourmaline seem pretentious, and peridot makes me think of Steven Universe. Screw it. Character B can just get a flower." opens floriography reference and vanishes down the rabbit hole
Why not a nice gift card, maybe? Practical AND thoughtful...

Uh oh, I've seen this happen before. I think we're going to need a young priest and an old priest. And a half-dozen bananas. And an advent calendar of liquor shot bottles and a large bottle of peppermint schnapps.

Did socratic seminar #2 with my juniors today. Pre-reading activity for The Crucible; topic was "How important is honesty?"
Last time, they were so glad when my timer went off so they could stop. Today, they begged me to put more time on to keep the discussion going a little longer.
Still have a couple more sections to repeat this with, so shall see if this holds true the rest of the day.

Not so bad - how're you, Cal?
I got back from my other half's early in the afternoon, played some musical instruments for a bit, did some exercise, had my tea and am now drinking Guinness Foreign Extra and listening to an album of Rutles covers by various '90s US indie types. It's odd.
EDIT: There's a track later on by a band called 'When People Were Shorter And Lived By The Water'. Might be a good track, but that's a bloody awful band name.

How's everyone doing today?
Glorious! The weather has warmed up and it isn't raining for a change. The gym didn't kill me, I had delicious tacos for lunch, and the puppy got two hours at the dog park. Everything's coming up Milhouse!
Also, I just learned it's the Year of the Metal Rat, which sounds pretty awesome. No idea what it means.

I finally broke down and got the DDPYoga program. Starting with their Rebuild and nutrition programs with hopes of regaining some fitness.
I've seen the paratrooper story for years now and really wanted to do this.
I did the day 1 workout: reading the week 1 guide. So far, so good!

I'm doing mostly OK. I canceled my game tonight because I was too tired from fighting depression and anxiety all week to run anything. Those issues ARE getting better, I think. It's just taking a while. So instead we are going to watch the premiere episode of "Star Trek: Picard" and something else.

I would very much like there to be a Plane of Surprise.

I mean, technically, I figured out a second in the sense that I could have just named a city in my setting what I needed. But then I'd have to go and make a landmark to name it after...and after a certain point, we're just Gloryhammering it up with putting fantasy stuff in real places.

Yeah but we found an easier (and let's be fair, more logical) way instead.
