is there in the rules that says....?

Rules Questions

Stairs are difficult Terrain? Or that you need a bare minimum of 20 in a skill
to perform a feat of skill. Such as wall running with the aid of some sorta jumpjet.
Is therein the rules that restricts how you can use full runnin aka sprinting out of
combat. It has to be a straight line no slight turns.

I had to catch up with the party but there was stairs in the way of my full sprint and i wanted to just jump over the stairs with jump jets wall walking the slight bend in the stair well. And catching up with the party incase they needed healing. But they naysayed everything and said i needed a base in my skill of 30 or some bull.

I dont believe stars are normally counted as difficult terrain unless they are abnormally steep stairs or stairs created specifically for large creatures.

The rest sounds like GM ruling on the situation. Other than that I believe Jump Jets replace your normal move with a 30ft fly speed with the given restrictions but their has been some debate about that. Regardless a full run / sprint is a full round action so you couldnt have activated the jump jets as part of that movement anyway.

That said there is nothing in the book that sets skill level thresholds like your asking about that I am aware of.

Difficult Terrain

Difficult terrain, such as heavy undergrowth, piles of junk, or steep stairs , hampers movement.

Wallrunning as a DC 20 would be reasonable.

You very likely cannot sprint and jump in the same action: a sprint requires you to go full bore, jumping will slow you down

even stairs 10 feet high have a dc 40 jump check: the dc is 4x the height jumped

K o/ thanks guys.
