Balance Advice - Wildshape and Shaman Spirit

Homebrew and House Rules

I am not experienced in Homebrew or anything like that. So I am making a character and I want advice on what might be a reasonable trade out. I want to make a gypsy halfling who worships Desna and rides a pet yak. Because I want the yak at first level and I want it to stay applicable through the whole game I dont have a lot of class options.
My plan would be to go for druid, since I want to be a full divine caster. The only thing is that I don't see my character using Wildshape for flaver purposes, so I was looking for options to replace it. One of the ones that came up was the shaman spirit, specifically Heavens. Some of the abilities are fun and flavorful but I am not sure if it is a balanced trade off. Do you think it is?

The other option I thought of was playing a shaman and seeing if my GM would let me have a yak spirit animal (familiar). But I wonder if that might be a lot to ask. Let me know what you guys think.

A full strength animal companion.
Nature Soul, Animal Ally and Boon Companion.
So 3 feat's in total.

A familiar can be
Iron Will and Familiar Bond.
So 2 in total.

So i would have no trouble in changing out the shaman familiar for an animal companion that you get at 4th level that counts as your level-3.
Then just start with a normal Yak.

How do you mean change out wild shape for the heavens spirit?
When do you get hexes and stuff like that? How many? or do you get everything at 1st level?

Nature Fang removes wild shape have you taken a look at it?

Other classes that get animal companions at 1st level
Hunter
Inquisitor Sacred Huntsmaster (I recommend adding Sanctified Slayer)
Sorcerer with the Sylvan bloodline.

If you want the familiar to be worth having in any capacity, you'll want to take Improved Familiar Bond, which makes it 3 feats in total.

Shaman already has familiars. So i compared how hard it is to get a familiar compared to an animal companion.
