Hey everyone! I have a character who uses a comical number of firearms at all times, and if varying types. I am looking to add the buckler gun to his list of firearms, but I have some questions about it that I haven't seen answers to.
1) if I am not actively wanting to use the gun, does it count as a buckler and provide the shield bonus?
2) If I am wanting to 'equip' the gun part of the buckler gun, would it just be a draw action?
3) If I aim to enhance the buckler gun, would it be enhancing the buckler portion, the gun portion, or both?
4) And a sort of rider on the last question, would the allying enchantment work on It while it is on his arm?
Thanks for helping!

I had a lengthy and detailed post written up, but a network hiccup consumed it... Rewriting my answers and interpretations in short form here.
1) Yes. In fact, I don't think you would lose the buckler gun's AC bonus when firing the buckler gun (though other weapons wielded in that hand might prevent firing it, and would otherwise treat the buckler gun as a normal buckler for penalties and the like).
2) When wielding the buckler gun, I think you would be treated as wielding both the gun portion and the buckler portion simultaneously in that hand. Thus, you don't need to "equip" or "draw" the gun if you're already wielding the buckler gun.
3) Going by the similar rules on how to enchant armour spikes and shields as weapons, you would need to separately enchant the gun portion as a weapon and the buckler portion as a shield.
4) Yes. Since you always count as your own ally (don't have a reference on hand for this, but I'm pretty sure of it), it might even be an attractive option to spend your money enchanting just one of your many guns, then shifting the enhancement bonus around to whichever gun you're using in a given round.
