The number of feats a sorcerer gets seems really low

Granted, bloodline abilities are probably pretty powerful, and the sorcerer gets them to replace the feats they would otherwise get. But in a game where other classes can choose to what degree they invest in their school/order/muse, not having that choice just feels bad. It makes a multiclass sorcerer far less satisfying, and removes the agency present with every other class. What are other people's thoughts?

It feels like they should take the opportunity to standardize how many feats everyone gets, even if that means certain things like bloodline advancements get turned into class feats.

In 1e, getting extra feats was a class feature. In 2e, everyone should have compelling class features *and* good feat options. No one has to be "the feat class" anymore.

I agree they need two more feats.

They'd be much better off. The bloodline powers are largely garbage.

I find it odd that the other spellcasters only trade their first level feat for a (choice of power), and then have complete freedom of choice in taking later ones.

The sorcerer reads like it was from a different revision of the rules or had a different author. Explains the skill hiccup as well.

Right now, the sorcerer seems to be like a "My First spellcaster" class, where most of the choices are streamlined and depend on a single choice: Your bloodline.

This description is a little bit harsh, but the fact that the bard can get 5 spell heightening if he wants to while the sorcerer can never increase his, kind of feel that way.

There is great potential and great idea there, but something is definitely missing.

The bloodline powers are garbage, but so are the wizard school powers. Are cleric domain powers as bad?

I made a thread with images of them all side by side here.

They're about as bad, yeah.

Not universally. Life siphon is very good (xd8 healing just for casting a school spell, repeatable several times?), augment summoning is nice.

Energy Absorption, Dimensional Steps and Invisibility Cloak are both nice to have, as is Shifting Form (though perhaps not so much at 8th level)

Some more so than others.

Darkened Eyes is utter rubbish (maybe you'll get rid of darkvision, for 2 points?)

Zeal's weapon surge is very good, especially at low levels.
Money Talks (Wealth) gets rid of a lot of nonsense, and is fairly amusing.

Heal's powers are good.

Watching the Watchers is just puzzling. It's great for thieves, but its limited to Abadar (who's anathema includes theft) and Cayden, who.. could have some but it seems too meticulous and methodical to fit. Face in the Crowd also feels like a thematic mismatch.

Really, they're all over the place.
