Darkmeer Runs Curse of the Crimson Throne (Pathfinder 1.0)

Recruitment

101 to 129 of 129 << first < prev | 1 | 2 | 3 | next > last >>

I present the complete cavalier, reynotto O'Spec

Reynotto: your profile currently only shows your background info. I like it, but the crunch should be there.unless my tablet is really awful.

Those groups look fun!

I agree that no full divine caster for Law & Chaos is a non-issue. There are plenty of ways to heal with a witch, inquisitor, alchemist and magic items.

The back track error hit, it should be there now.

It's still not showing for me, just a link to a private myth-weavers sheet...

I fixed that as well, terribly sorry

It's alright. I do prefer the sheet on Paizo's site for simplicity, but I can see it all now.

Still a little over sit hours to go ;)

Apparently I failed my knowledge (local)check to find the sheet, could you point it out to me, and if i make it in I'll transfer for ease of use.

Third post down, use Filnefillan as the guide.

I am headed to sleep. About 30 minutes left before closing the recruitment. I can tell everyone that you have done marvelous work.

I will still coming consider any other entries, if they make the deadline, but the quality bar is really high.

Thanks for the quick answer. Deadline has passed, and you have plenty to choose from...

Groups look good to me. I can shift Pendleton's hexes/feats a bit to get the Healing hex earlier if it seems we'll need a bit more healing.

I forgot how I got my harrow card
Reynotto had just finished a rat raid, and went to get something to drink. When he finished the ale he thought he saw something on the bottom, and that was where the card was.

So now I have a choice before the first post tomorrow. Right now I have Reynotto who needs threaded into a group. A bit on the dark side, and a fellow Sarenrae worshipper.

Honestly, I want to throw him in Law and Chaos, just to see a group play without a cleric. An Arcane wand of Cure Light Wounds is really easy to thread in fairly early.

Honestly, it is between he and Riren. So, given that is the choice I am making, I would like to hear from the ragtag group and the law and Chaos group. What do you think will work best in your group. Please PM me.

I also would like to hear from Riren and Reynotto as well, this way I fit all pieces by tomorrow evening for the start time.

I went ahead and sent you a message.

This is really tricky.

Just wanted to say everyone's posts look awesome. Everyone seems invested, which is great to see.

Good luck everyone!

Attempts to hide his nerves, because he is one of the 2 characters who is being discussed the most :)

Oh, I also forgot about the Harrow card. I'm sorry.

It’s barely midday, but it has already been a tiresome day for Aleziella. Starting out before the sun rose to get some opportunity to train with her hammer before the city became too crowded to find some semblance of privacy. She felt good about that part. I can feel that I'm much better with the hammer now then just a few months ago. I mostly hit where I aim now and I don't really lose control of the weapon either. A smile crept over her face at the thought.

You're so much like your mother in this. Brimming with confidence when you have no right to be. The brutality of battle does not deserve smiles. You'll see the first time you smash someone's face in, or perhaps someone does it to someone you know... Now let's see if we can find someone to aid you in task, so you can watch what happens to their face... The invasive thoughts of her eidolon wiped the smile from her face.

Yeah, so much time spent hauling cargo, got to get money for food to eat somehow... But it leaves less time for what we need to do... She surveys the street to see if there's someone that could be likely to offer to help. A mountain of a man is hauling a donkey along the street, his bare arms show off plenty of muscle. The half-elf can't help but have her gaze drawn to him.

"Hello there big guy!" Aleziella says with a charming smile. "You got a moment for a stranger?"

"Eh?" The man says slowly and turns towards her with a confused look. He stops walking thought and the donkey stops with him.

"I'm Aleziella. What's your name?" The pretty half-elf continues as she tries to be as inviting and friendly as possible. The big man looks her up and down and his confused look slowly disappear before he says again. "Eh."

"That's an unusual name, but I kind of like it. Nice to meet you Eh.[B]" She responds with a nod. "[B]Though there's one thing I don't like. There are so many people in the city taking advantage of others. It's a shame so many end up with unfortunate fates."

"Eh!" Is the only response she gets before suddenly the face of the big man twists into something like hunger or intense desire. This guy might not be the best to try to talk with, a wry comment comes in her mind. It comes right before the man stretches out his arms as if to grab the young woman.

Aleziella takes a step backwards to evade him. His look turns to anger when he can't grab her. Suddenly he stops. The reins of the donkey keeps him back.

"EEEEHHH!" He screams in rage as Aleziella runs away. She has no desire to grapple with the giant.

She hasn't even gotten two meters when she bumps into someone. Though she catches herself before she falls. That was close. If I had tumbled down, he would have been upon me.

Thankfully the small hindrance is not enough to stop her from getting away. Several blocks away she's sure she has lost him. Aleziella leans back against the wall and tries to catch her breath. There she quickly notices she has some foreign object stuck down her chest, under her armor, right next to the painful claw necklace she always wears. What is this? How can someone have gotten something here?

Aleziella have to work to get whatever it is out, it's not easy to get under her armor, even for herself. How can someone have put it there without me noticing?

When she finally gets it out, she's surprised to see that it's a Harrow card. A crowd of people with torches and pitchforks. “The Uprising” Is written in big letters on the front and on the back there’s even more text:

"I know what Gaedren has done to you. He has wronged me as well. I know where he dwells, yet cannot strike at him.
Come to my home at 3 Lancet Street at sunset. Others like you will be there. Gaedren must face his fate, and Justice Must Be Done."

Her mouth goes wide in shock. Who can have sent this? How can they know? There’s a wry laughter in her mind followed by reproachful words. You haven’t exactly been the most subtle, my dear. Just like the crazed brute we just ran away from, this card fits us much better. The Uprising is the Chaotic Neutral card of Strength. With hammer, claw and force of will, we will fight and no one can keep us enslaved or oppressed. Someone with more wit and guile have sent this card. Let’s hope they can help us with what we can’t do alone.

A grim determination and serious demeanor settles over Aleziella’s face. No more smiles. This is not a time for smiles. Let’s do this. She hefts her hammer and sets off towards her new destination without looking back.

Oh goodness! I forgot about the card!

Harrow Card:

Waking up early is normal for Riren. He has lots of work to do around the temple. Pulling himself out of bed, cleaning himself off, and grabbing his temple clothes and heading out to perform is normal morning ritual.

With his holy symbol in hand Riren sits down in the temple field. Others slowly joining him with their own morning routines.

"Sarenrae, my blade is yours. My drive to heal the wounded, both spiritually, and physically holds true. Let your power drive my blade, and my path to lead to a better tomorrow"

After filling the warmth of the sun touch his skin, Riren stands up. Pulls out his red and gold scarf and wraps it around his head. Lifting his head to the sky and focusing on the powerful, warm, and welcoming fire of the sun. Trying to find the exact location of the sun in the sky. After focusing and finding the location he lifts up to take the scarf off. But realizes there is something there. Tucked in the back of the scarf, where the knot is is a card.

With a bit of confusion he looks at the card. A Harrow Card. A man standing among many people fallen to the ground. The Survivor... A card for someone who survied a terrible ordeal.

Riren looks around the open field. A few other clerics are in meditation. A few swing their blades in pratice, but nothing seems out of place.

Looking again at the card. On the back is a note I know what Gaedren has done to you. He has wronged me as well. I know where he dwells, yet cannot strike at him.
Come to my home at 3 Lancet Street at sunset. Others like you will be there. Gaedren must face his fate, and Justice Must Be Done.

A rush of his heart snaps his attention. With a look up to the sun. "Thank you, if you didn't give this to me, your light was bathed on the one who did. I will do what I can to follow your light, but evil must pay"

He rushes to his room, grabbing all his gear and his blade. His holy symbol still holding the warmth of the sun. A glance at the blade and the Dawnflower's visage in his symbol. "Lets do this". Riren heads out, to warm up, excited for sunset.

The Card:

"...I'm not saying you should stop, just that you need to be more careful. If I heard that there's a halfling asking around about Lamm and his organization, it won't be long before word gets to him too. Like we'd said before, you need to play the long game and be patient."

Dennvyn looks up over his tankard Ensis with a frown, "Aye, easy for you to say -- sure, getting thrown out of the Orisini stung, but you knew where the family that used their influence were -- and had the weapons to fight back -- a bit of coin here, some friends able to whisper the truth in the right ears, there. It took a few years, but you ended up with a better reputation that many graduates, and now you're off to the Sables. It's well and good to be patient when you know enough to make plans."

He puts down his drink harder than he'd intended, a small amount leaping out of the cup, and he says, "I'm going against someone who has his fingers everywhere, is basically rumours and vanishes in the wind, and owns pretty much everyone I've ever known -- except for you and a cabal of old ladies. You had weapons to fight back in the right arena, I've got a head full of magic and the reflexes that you, yourself, beat into me, and that's about it."

The halfling frowns as he sees the look on his friend's face, realizing both his volume and the implication. He holds up a hand in apology, then adds more quietly, "Sorry, yes, I know I can count on you too, but you've got your new commission, and I'm not going to ruin that for you. You got your dream... and, fine, fine, I'll be more careful. Like you said, I can't be throwing away all the time you've wasted training me."

Ensis laughs at Dennvyn's comment, adding, "...and don't you forget it. Now, this was meant to be a dinner to celebrate my commission, so let's change the subject before the sour taste in our mouths can't be washed away."

Dennvyn chuckles and nods, grabbing a napkin to wipe up the spilled ale... and notices something poking out from beneath his plate... tugging on in, he blinks, ..a harrow card?... The Crows?...

Ensis grabs the card away from his small friend with the same swift hands that allowed him to excel at the Orisini, "See? This has to be a warning to back off. Or...", he pauses as he reads, "..a trap to bring you in."

Dennvyn takes the card back and reads it, "Well, if someone's going through all the trouble of setting me up, it'd be a shame for them to waste all that time. Besides, I'm not a lost little Lamm anymore, and I doubt that anyone's expecting me trained to fight, let alone be able to blast them with magic.... Sure, it might only work once, but I think I'd best go hear what this person has to say... and be ready to encourage them to talk even more, if it is a trap."

The halfling quickly puts the card away, then lifts his tankard, "But, like you said, enough of that talk. Tonight's about you." And if we change the subject, you can't keep trying to talk me out of going... and if I can get another pint or two into you, you might even forget to tell anyone else about the card...

Riren you get +2 to saves vs fear as i raise my banner and brave the storm With you.

Yikes! I, too, forgot about the harrow card.

Harrow Card:
Inquisitor Crowler enters the side entrance to Temple of Asmodeus in Korvosa. It's nowhere near as impressive and dominating as the main entrance, just mainly by temple officials and layman. The human's eyes readjust to the candlelight that is the main source of illumination in the temple office. Before he can remove his wide brim hat, a teenage acolyte runs up to meet with Arzodus.
"Inquisitor Crowler!" the youth breathes as he stops abruptly. "A message slipped under the door a few hours ago." The acolyte held out a folded parchment out to the inquisitor.
"Did anyone see who left the message in his manner?" Crowler questioned. The parchemt, which had his last name written in taldane on the front, was sealed with a simple nondescript blue wax seal, which appeared to look slightly scraped, most likely from being pushed under the door.
"No, Inquisitor!" The youth answered immediately. "It was found by the door while you were out, I swear!"
Looking it over, not getting any additional information on the outside, Crowler spoke, "You may go."
The acolyte bowed respectfully and turned and walked back into the temple proper.
Crowler found a nearby table and sat down, facing away from the door and others who might come in. With a nearby letter opening, Crowler broke the seal. what looked like a playing card fell out of the now-open parchment.
A horrow card? Strange.
Crowler then read the parchment's contents.

"I know what Gaedren has done to you. He has wronged me as well. I know where he dwells, yet cannot strike at him.
Come to my home at 3 Lancet Street at sunset. Others like you will be there. Gaedren must face his fate, and Justice Must Be Done."

Hmm, thought the inquisitor, someone else knows about my interest in Lamm, and there might be other interested parties as well. It could be a trap. Still, this is the best lead I've had in several days.
With a frown, Crowler leaves the table and out the temple door.
I'll leave now to scope the place out.

My thoughts/input about the two is a minor point only: The eidolon's pounce and the cavalier's charge are pretty similar abilities.

Truly no skin off my nose with either path. Pick the one that feels right to you.

I don't really mind either way. Perhaps slightly skewed towards the battle cleric because I have a soft spot for gishes (any casters for that matter), but I am happy with either addition to the team. Gedrin won't know what hit him (but he will know WHO hit him - I will make sure of that...)

Harrow Card:
Pendleton entered his room, closing and latching the door behind him. He lit a candle, and sat down at his small desk to continue working until the evening. He emptied his satchel onto the table, then stopped, staring.
How did that get there?
Atop the pile of papers was a harrow card - the Inquisitor to be precise. He reached down and turned it over carefully - on the back, a note was inscribed in neat handwriting:
"I know what Gaedren has done to you. He has wronged me as well. I know where he dwells, yet cannot strike at him.
Come to my home at 3 Lancet Street at sunset. Others like you will be there. Gaedren must face his fate, and Justice Must Be Done."

He carefully laid the card down, pondering. Who was behind the note, and how did it get into his bag? He reached for his coin purse, but a quick check thankfully showed that nothing was missing. Now, the card hadn't been there at his afternoon meeting with one of his few clients - but after that he had walked through the busy streets and had an early supper at a local tavern - the card could easily have been slipped in at any point, he supposed.

He had been searching for Gaedren Lamm, although he was trying to keep that a secret. Best not to reveal your intentions too early against the man you are trying to bring down. But maybe someone he had asked an innocent question to had passed something on, or maybe his name had come up when this mysterious benefactor had been seeking other people Gaedren had wronged.

He glanced out the window, where the sun was already sinking low in the sky. A quick decision then. This could be a trap - although since his first contact with Gaedren he had developed some tricks of his own that whoever was setting the trap wouldn't be expecting. And a trap would be a lead to Gaedren in itself. Coming to a decision, he gathered up some equipment into his pack, blew out the candle, and hurried back out into the city.

I have made my decision. When I get home, I will post for each group, but the post is long. Should have the post up around 8 pm central. I will link it and announce the teams at that time.

That's exciting to hear. Looking forward to it. Though, if you've made your decision already... It's a shame we can't discuss things with the rest of the party until then. For the people who have common background, ties and connections could be figured out. Perhaps minor adjustments like moving a skill point around or something could be made to better fit in with the rest (unless you consider characters locked I guess).. I'll probably be asleep when you post and will have to wait until morning to respond.

Okay, here is the announcement and link to the game thread. The opening post will be on and ready for dotting and reaction.
Dark's Curse of the Crimson Throne: Team Lawn & Chaos

I want to note that there were a few PM's and the notes here in this thread swayed the decision, solidifying Riren's place in Ragtag.
