Hey,
So I've got this idea in mind for a new character and was wondering if any of you might have other ways to build this character than me (I am currently looking into Fighter but it doesn't fully satisfy me.)
The image is:
A heavily armoured Dwarf grabs someone by the head, throws them to the ground and cracks their skull with his Blacksmith's Hammer.
Yes the character would be a blacksmith wearing heavy armour and using a Blacksmith's Hammer to fight. He'd keep his other hand free, so he wouldn't be using a shield. I'd love for him to use his free hand for some combat maneuvers perhaps. In non-combat situations he's your standard Dwarf.
Cheers,
Sorrol

I would think something like a brawler with levels in something else for the armor. Maybe a fighter or Armored Hulk barbarian. From the sound of it, you might enjoy that...
There is a trait that lets you use a Blacksmith's Hammer without penalty. I don't know if improvised weapons count as close for a flurry.
The feat throat-slicer lets you grapple someone and then do a coup de gras as a standard action. You will definitely want grabbing style since it lets you grapple with one hand.
Pick something with bonus feats, you can grapple with one hand, pin, and then use coup de gras with a hammer.

This is actually pretty simple. All you need is a dwarf fighter with at least a 13 INT and take combat expertise, improved trip and latter greater trip. The rules don’t specify exactly how a trip has to be performed so you should be fine describing the trip as grabbing them by the head. You also don’t have to have improved unarmed strike or any other ability to use unarmed combat to perform a trip besides improved trip.

I agree, a brawler/fighter or brawler/barbarian multi-class could be interesting. You could Brawlers Flurry by tripping or grappling an opponent and then bash them a couple times with your hammer. You'd have to pick a weapon from the "close weapon group" and see if your GM will just allow you to skin it, though there are plenty of clubs and bludgeoning style weapons in that croup which should be fine.
Brawler gives great bonuses to some specific CMB rolls as well as allowing you to swap combat feats in and out.
hahaha though I'd like to point out the thematic flaw in logic of a 4' dwarf reaching opponents' heads to throw them to the ground. More likely biting an ankle.

This Brawler Archetype deals specifically with improvised weapons as a thing. If you choose to multiclass Barbarian (or Primalist Bloodrager), Body Bludgeon is a no-brainer choice, allowing you to grab enemies and use them as improvised weapons. If you do Primalist Bloodrager, you can snag one of the bloodlines that lets you enlarge when you rage.
These are just a start, but I'll be following this to see what you come up with, friend :D

^That's a really nice archetype.
The fact that you keep Maneuver Mastery means the free maneuvers can actually work. AA2 also has some gloves that enchant any improvised weapon you use. I want to play this guy with Healer’s Hands and Signature Skill (Heal) and basically play Mr. Miyagi, complete with hand-clapping, palm-rubbing shoulder-pain-curing.
