As PF2 takes more developer bandwidth with the impending playtest this year and subsequent launch next year, what lingering rules issues do you wish the developers would FAQ/Errata for PF1 before they turn their full attention to PF2?

Whoops! Flagging to be moved over PF rules forum.

I said it at PaizoCon last year, in several threads, and I'll repeat it here: define Burrow. 10 years in and there are still no actual rules for burrow speed. I played a PFS character to 16 and he had burrow speed as an option for 11 of those levels. I had to ask GMs to define it at every table.

There were a lot of good questions in this thread. Most of them were never answered.

Ultimate Campaign, Kingdom Rules, Optional Kingdom Rules. Trade Edicts. Are longer trade routes really easier to set up than short ones, or is there a mistake in the DC calculation?

What are the limits on Polymorph Other? A lot of other polymorph spells have been added since it was introduced. It should be able to duplicate the effects of at least some of the minor spells, or a new Polymorph Other should be introduced. Real question about if you are allowed to chose Outsiders and Abominations or absolutely forbidden from doing so. And then the whole deal of transforming stuff like lead into gold, or wood into spices and other economic woes.

Really, an exhaustive official response to this problem child of a spell.

State in exacting terms that with Bladed Brush Combat you still have both hands on the glaive and that it works with both Piercing/Slashing Grace feats so people can stop arguing about it.

I'd like a FAQ that amounts to, "Use your judgment, and don't be afraid to be 'wrong'."

You don't need anything official for that. That happens in every home game. But where rules matter, even in a fantasy game, some things need to be made clear beyond reproach.

It would be nice to finally get that simulacrum blog.

As PFS will be moved to the second edition I doubt we will see many FAQ. The only need for FAQ is for shared games between different groups, not for home games.

Charge rules and Overrun and how they interact with several feat and ability would be a nice thing to address.

Polymorph gray and undefined areas too. As an example: when our characters polymorph to elemental and undead, they still need to breath?

My druid in fire elemental form will die of asphyxiation if he were to enter a burning building? Or when walking on the bottom of a lake in earth elemental form he will need to enter the earth/rock under his feet regularly to get a breath? (burrowing creatures can breath while burrowing)

* Defined pricing of unusual sized Weapons.
* Clarification/a re-check of the Cat Sith Familiar Folio entry and the F.A.Q. on Familiar Magic Item Slots - in the former they can walk bipedally with no problem, even being stated to wear magical boots; in the latter they are quadrupeds that cannot use the Feet Slot.

You know what? All of them.

Since PF1 is - in terms of design efforts - about to be deprecated, Paizo doesn't particularly need to be careful. It'd be great if the design team spent a day or two and threw out answers to all the FAQs with more than a handful of requests.

Imagine if Jason or someone stepped into the "is non-lethal damage hitpoint damage" thread and just said "yes, it is, because I said so." Sure, some of the participants wouldn't be happy, but there'd be a ruling one way or another. And Paizo wouldn't have to worry about that ruling impacting future products because there won't be any.

Oh, but I'm dreaming.

Why not do one errata to rule them all?

If anything in question can be taken to mean an additional ability, it is granted, end of conversation.

Pull the gloves off of everything and let people scrap.

Does Bladed Brush Combat work with Slashing Grace? Of course it does! It's a FEAT, dual wield finessed dex to damage glaives if you want! Does nonlethal damage work with Power Attack? Of course it does. Can you pounce a target in the air? Of course you can!

Make it official that PF1 is full of crazy abilities that let you do crazy things, because IT'S A F*CKING FANTASY GAME!!!

People that want rigid structure can play PF2. Make PF1 into THUNDERDOME, b!tch. Lol.

Bucklers and bows. Do I get the AC bonus or not?

Yes, until you attack, then no... without Unhindering Shield feat.

Explain Bardic Masterpieces !
Are they a different performance or can you combine them with a performance?

Two Handed weapons clarification on One Handed use. Specifically, clarifying that using the weapon One Handed does not change the weapon designation as the character is wielding it. This would clarify that characters would not be able to wield two of the Two Handed weapons, or wield a larger one without abilities that specify the ability to do so. (There is only one ability thus far that allows the larger weapon ability)

Grapple movement restriction - Only Grappled character's own movement or *all* including "external" movement (which means gravity when floor beneath is disentigrated etc). Relatedly, does Grapple end instantly if target is ever outside certain range (e.g. adjacent/Reach)? Currently even Teleporting/Plane Shifting doesn't seem to end it until the Grapple is failed to be Maintained the next round. Also cool options like Bullrushing your ally to get them out of Grapple/Black Tentacles seem fun & reasonable, but no mechanic exists to adjudicate - either one rules they work normally because Grapple's movement restriction is worded differently than (anchored) Entangled and they are Bullrushed the same as if they were unimpeded, or one rules the Bullrush doesn't work at all... There is no opposed check, or increase to CMD etc.

I mostly say that Core Rules questions should be prioritized since they tend to affect the most people. One quirky archetype or feat in recent splat... not as much.

Some additional ones :

* Wealth by Level and Crafting : the F.A.Q. (2012) is contradicted by Ultimate Campaign (2013). Normally you would have the F.A.Q. correct the printed book, yet U.C. is a main-line book that was printed after the F.A.Q., (and the F.A.Q. not updated). So the question begs whether Crafted Items are treated as their Crafting Cost v. W.B.L., or if they are the Purchase Price v. 1.25-1.50x W.B.L.
* The [7] Simulacrum Spell - I really like it but it needs better definition, especially regarding Racial (Sp)/(Su)/(Ex).
* All Prepared Spellcasters (and possibly Alchemists) being able to use the Spell Mastery Feat, (or not), as a follow-up to the one-foot-in/one-foot-out F.A.Q.
* Are the Shield Companion Spells (Animal Archive, 2013) (Advanced Class Guide, 2014) separate Spells that happen to have the same name (and very similar Effects), or the same Spell clarified in the A.C.G.?
* End any lingering debate over the full duration of Limited Wish, Miracle or Wish duplicating a Spell, (i.e., is it 1 Standard Action + the duration of the duplicated Spell, or is the total duration just 1 Standard Action).
* I know that Cohorts were not assigned Levels using a specific framework/template but could some general guidance be produced in regards to the Cohort Level of Monster Cohorts, (and even non-Monster Races with high R.P.)?
* Correct the darned entry for Mythic Base Abilities - Force of Will (Ex) at 6th tier (the table) or 7th Tier (as per the write-up)? Currently the printed copy, (established to be the correct version as 6th Tier in an easily missed thread comment), contradicts the PDF version, (still saying both 6th and 7th Tiers).
* The continued Aasimar/Tiefling/Dhampir Age Categories debacle.

Apologies if I have missed any updates to these!

Personally, I'm still hoping they finalize the Shifter Errata/FAQ and adjust its archetypes accordingly.

I don't expect to see any more FAQs, but:

What do Shamans use as a Divine Focus (for spells that require one)?

I'd settle for the bardic performance FAQ. Yeah guess I'm going to have a long wait on that one.

Whatever faqs/errata happen I just want the PRD updated fully.

How stealth works with invisibility. I think I know why this one is being avoided.

How the Kusarigama is supposed to work. This is one should be fairly simple to answer, so I don't know why it hasn't been answered.

How that Katasha(probably spelled wrong) is supposed to work with multiple weapons. Likely answered by the question below

How a creature with 4 arms and the multi-weapon fighting feat interacts with two weapon fighting feats.

Starting ages and age progression for all the races missing them, and clarifications for the ones that have some conflicting information.

I doubt most, if any, of the needed FAQ or errata will actually happen. Paizo has essentially TOLD us they've basically been stalling for PF2 for years, so it's not likely they'll suddenly take an interest in PF1 again.
