Sniper in the deep, time pressure?

Hello all, i'm in need of some clarification/advice.

Of the team i'm running this for, the team's cleric's resources have seen some use by the time they finished killing the lacedon in the ship.

Used: a few of several channels, and a couple of spells, but that's natural in an adventure, after a few encounters.

But the team wants to know if there is some time pressure with the mission, because they want to rest 8 hours otherwise.
Moreover, if they have rest, so does the BBEG, who's a caster with by default a few spent spell slots on the day the mission is happening.

I'm getting the impression, and correct me wrong, that the mission is assumed to be a 1 day thing, as it mentions no other days.
The venture captain's intro mentions he's a very impatiant man.

["What are you waiting for?"]

Thus, is this mission indeed an assumed 1 day thing, or does the team have the luxury of taking 8 hours of rest...... on the ship where 2 more encounters reside?

(Bump?) :P

They are rushing to get the Sniper before anyone else does and should be reminded of that, even though they obviously didn’t get there first.

I'm assuming that the party fails the mission if they take their 8 hours rest period. I would be explicit in telling them that, however.

I see no time limit in the scenario nor any reason to force a party to rush to their doom.

I played this yesterday, and I didn't get the impression there was a time limit. Most adventures are assumed to be completed in one day, but there are several that define no time limit. Hell, the author of the Tome of Righteous Repose has explicitly stated in the forums that taking several days isn't an issue (especially considering you're already taking several days getting there). Unless explicitly stated time is of the essence (other people racing to get the object as well, the objective moves or expires, and so on), theoretically you can take as long as you want.
The only thing is that PFS sorta works on the honour system and assumes you do it in one day. As long as you don't abuse that trust (the "15-minute working day," where you do one encounter each day), I see no issue in taking longer. Especially since this scenario is pretty harsh.

The biggest issue I see is needing another day worth of water breathing effects if you plan on leaving the ship, resting, and coming back.

The scenario provides 7 potions, and the party knows what they're up against. If your party composition is right, you might not even need to spend money on scrolls.

The scenario doesn't specifically say what happens if the PCs wait around for nothing. It is fairly clear that the GM should be pushing them on the time schedule, however.

The scenario even instructs the GM to "gently hint that to the players that they should perhaps search for Airk's body after finding the artifact".

My reading isn't fully supported by the text, but the notion that there isn't any time pressure just seems wrong.

Adril is impatient, but there is no indication that anyone else will be coming, and the BBEG has no way to make off with the prize. I don't see this time crunch that you appear to. It took two weeks for him to figure out where to go, and the PCs only figure it out faster thanks to the bulk of the work being done for them.
