You can't get Spell Focus until 3rd level, not that it matters when you're starting the build at 5th.

In terms of advice, I'd grab Longarm Proficiency and Versatile Specialization. And Great Fortitude because your Fort Save is low and likely to stay that way, and your initiative is already pretty good.

This'd make your Feats:

1: Longarm Proficiency
1: Great Fortitude
3: Spell Focus
5: Versatile Specialization

As levels go up this nearly doubles your damage when not casting at the cost of two Feats. That's worth it. Grab Weapon Focus later to raise it even more.

In terms of other advice, you might go Cha over Con (or Int, though I'd keep that for skills personally). The extra Stm is nice, but your Connection skills are both Cha and playing to that particular strength isn't a bad idea at all.

You should, in fact, think about what skills you want. Bluff, Intimidate, Perception, Sense Motive, and Mysticism seem obvious. That leaves three more, one of which should likely be whatever you plan to do in starship combat.

Given the Intimidate bonus, you could make Captain your role (maybe throwing a skill into Diplomacy as well), but should probably only do that if going with the Cha 12 suggestion above. Another option is to grab ranks in Pilot and be the Gunner. Your Dex is high and you don't need a Class Skill bonus when shooting guns. Those are probably the two roles you'll do best at, but I don't know your group composition and thus don't know if there are already people handling that stuff.

Spell-wise, you look okay to me, mostly, but I'd strongly advise grabbing Mystic Cure instead of Fog Cloud. It's one spell and makes you the only combat HP healer in the game. Not getting it is silly.

I'd switch spell focus and versatile specialization. The +1 matters a lot less for a handful of spells than the +3 (then 4) damage potentially twice per round.

Yeah, probably. beyond the order being legal it didn't seem that important for a build apparently intended to start at level 5.

Well, I was kind of trying to make a character that didn't rely on longarms... is it really that necessary?

Damage-wise? Yes.

At 5th level, we're talking 1d6+2 (5.5 damage average) vs. 1d8+5 (9.5 damage average) 10th level, we're talking 3d6+5 (15.5 damage average) vs. 3d8+10 (23.5 damage average). At 15th, it's more like 3d12+7 (26.5 damage average) vs. 5d12+15 (47.5 damage average). At 20th it's 5d12+10 (42.5 damage average) vs. 12d8+20 (83 damage average).

In short, after the very early game, it's pretty much always at least 1.5 times as much damage and often nearly twice as much.
