I'm pretty sure I clicked the bubble for GenCon pick-up for my August subscription items, but those items aren't listed on the convention pick-up section of my My Subscriptions page, they're in my sidecart. Should I be worried about this, or is just still in a wonky processing stage?
Thanks :D

Gen Con orders are awaiting a last minute bug fix, with code currently expected to roll on Friday. Orders will then either be processed Friday or Monday/Tuesday. As it currently stands the Gen Con pick up items go straight from sitting in your sidecart to the final submission/payment settlement/PDF granting stage in one fell swoop. Currently the display shows Gen Con sub pick up items shipping with a later subscription. This is a display bug.

So, I just was checking, and the Starfield flip mat has left my sidecart. I'm hoping that is just a glitch, seeing as how is a rather critical item for actually playing the game.
If it's not a glitch, I'm more than a little disappointed, as I became a Charter Superscriber shortly after subscriptions went live...
Edit: I created a customer service thread for this, thanks

I've just subscribed to Starfinder, and both APs. I've heard that new subscribers might be waiting a few weeks, is this accurate?
Even people who've subscribed as soon as subscriptions became available might be waiting a few weeks, given how much they have to ship out this month.

From here:
So I know that everyone is really excited for their books to ship, but to set expectations, we have a lot of orders to ship. Our dedicated warehouse staff is shipping orders as quickly and efficiently as possible, but the sheer volume of orders needing to ship right now means we will very likely take the entire 3 week shipping window to process for shipping (today being the end of week 1 of that shipping window).
As of right now, everyone's preorder/sub should ship by the end of the shipping window listed in the OP, which is August 18th. If that changes, there should be an update in this thread. Both new and long-time subscribers could fall anywhere in that window.

Hi Brendan,
Yes, anyone who is starting their subscription after July 27th will want to start with Adventure Path #2, and then alert Customer Service via email if they would like to have #1 added to their account to be sent out once we have more.
There are more details in this post here about how that will work. I hope this helps! Just let me know if you have any further questions.

Hi Sara, thanks for all the information. Is it correct that some subscribers won't be receiving the Starfield map, even if it was listed as part of their subscription when we signed up? I only see Terrain listed in my sub, and not Starfield currently. Thanks!
Yours was in a weird data state which should be all fixed now.

A quick question as one of the many who subbed and is anxiously waiting for the pdf: I want to properly temper my expectations, so do you have any idea if someone who ordered more is more likely to be waiting longer for shipment?
From here:
SnowHeart wrote:Thanks, Sara. Is there any particular order or priority in which things are being shipped that you can share with us? (Alphabetical, time of order, internal customer ID #)?It's all based on being as efficient as possible for the warehouse staff to ship. The simplified version is that packages are categorized by shipping methods, content, box size (and other internal factors). Warehouse staff might pull all the Standard postal International packages containing a Core Rulebook, an AP and the maps and jam out those, and then move on to UPS Domestic containing just a Core Rulebook because that the size of the next batch that is they can finish before they're done for the day. We have staff working on larger batches of "simple" orders in assembly line fashion and then also staff working on "complex" orders or other orders that don't fall into large enough batches, (this is very over simplified and Will is probably shaking his head laughing at me). The pattern of which we ship sets of orders can vary from month to month depending on a number of factors.
tl;dr: Unless you're Skeld*, there's no way of knowing when your order will ship.

None whatsoever. We cannot look at an order and determine when it might ship, partly because the point at which it is most efficient to ship could vary from day to day based on what's going on in the warehouse that particular day.

Ok, sorry if I am being a bit of a bug on this.
If I could, while I am already bothering you: will the subscription orders be shipped so they arrive by 8/17 since that is the release date, or could it be later? I haven't done one like this before.

If you look at the first post in this thread, it lists when shipping is expected to begin and end. In this case, shipping began July 31st and is expected to end August 18th. So your package could arrive well before street date, if it shipped on day one, or several days after street date if it's the last one out the door. There's no way to know for sure when to expect it until you get your shipping notice by e-mail.

Steve Geddes |

Big months like this are a pain. they're obviously inundated with orders and the fact there are so many individual items in the Starfinder lines no doubt slows them down too.
In general the shipping isn't spread out as much in non-convention, non-sale months and it's rare for any subscriber to not have at least their PDF prior to street date.

It can happen....especially during GenCon month.

Got my shipping email yesterday. Where's my stuff? :-)
Okay, I guess i have to wait for Thursday to roll around. What did that vulture say? Oh, yeah. "Patience, my ass. I'm gonna kill something." :-)

I opted for pickup at Gen Con this year, but now there is nothing showing either on the subscription page OR in the cart? Someone above mentioned a 'side cart', but I can't seem to find that... unless that's the same thing as the normal cart?
What am I missing? Didn't get an authorization email either.

Buffalo Dave |

Ok; so I found my Sidecart, and everything is in there, states for pickup at Gen Con so I think I'm OK.
From looking at that though, I clicked on the "Ship as soon as possible" button, and things moved to my regular cart and it looks like I can buy them now.
SO; the question now is, can I pay in full today to release my PDFs and then pickup the physical items at Gen Con? Or do I have to wait and I messed things up?
Thanks!

I believe that you may have messed things up. The items entered your sidecart as the subscription run had happened, and had put them there until the Gencon order processing was to happen (reportedly today or tomorrow)
By Clicking 'ship as son as possible' you have converted your Gencon pickup into a regular order that is joining the mound of orders that the Warehouse in Seattle is working its way through.
Hopefully CS can revert it to how you originally intended it to be...

Hello Buffalo,
You should be able to see your items in your sidecart again. They are still set for GenCon pickup. If they stay in your sidecart after we have generated the GenCon pickup orders please let us know right away.

Quick question if you are willing to answer,
what are the hours for the warehouse team? while I am developing a bit of anxiety from the wait just knowing what time that department is active will allow me to know what time of day I should give my f5 key a rest would be nice, and relieve the tension somewhat.

OK, so now to make things difficult...;)
From what I'm reading, folks that didn't do pickup at Gen Con already have the PDF. Is there a way to unlock that sooner than when I do the actual pickup?
And if that's a no... can I switch back to having it shipped so I can get the PDFs now? I don't actually mind not getting the physical book until after Gen Con if I can get the PDF sooner. I'm not going to be able to hit the Paizo booth until Friday, and I'm playing some Starfinder on Thursday so I'd really love to be able to read this on the ride down...
Thank you!

Did your order move from sidecart to the convention pickup section? I think when that happens we will get the PDFs. Should happen sometime today from what they've been saying.

That was my first screwup! I'd assumed the order would process here, I'd get my PDFs, and I'd get the physical books as Gen Con but it now looks like the PDFs don't release to me until after that pickup.

I think you misunderstood what the last poster said. Those of us doing GenCon pickup should get our PDFs soon. Sara Marie's last public estimate was yesterday or today, but they still had some software problems last Friday, and it's unclear if/when those got resolved.
Edit: Wow, I ninja'd Hawkmoon. Pretty sure that's an achievement. :)

Hawkmoon269 |

When they process GenCon pickup for packing (as opposed to shipping) you will get your PDFs then. They were trying to do this last week, but had some bugs. See above. Once they get that fixed and run, you should have your PDFs for The things you are picking up at GenCon.

First World Bard |

The code roll for the fix on Gen Con orders is not going to happen until Wednesday. I am going to be ensuring that subscribers choosing to get their items at Gen Con get their PDFs today as soon as I am in the office (currently waiting on a service appointment at home). I apologize for the delay.
Thank you so much for this. I'm sure I speak for many of us when I say we really appreciate the extra work/overhead that is needed to make this happen.
Good luck with your service appointment. They can be pretty pesky.

Diego Valdez Customer Service Representative |

Hello Buffalo,
First World Bard and Hawkmoon are correct.
I can move your items to their own order to ship out instead of waiting for GenCon pickup if you would like. That means they would go into the shipping queue and you would get access to the PDFs when you order is processed for shipping. This is what you are seeing from other posters. As we process and ship their orders they get access to the PDFs. We are on track to finish shipping all the orders by August 18. If I take your order off of GenCon pickup it will go into the shipping queue and can process any time between now and August 18 (for expectation management, you would not get access to the PDF instantly and it could potentially be as late as August 18 when you get access to them). This is what pushing the ship right away button did to your order.
If you leave them set for GenCon pickup the PDFs will be granted when we process the orders. From Sara Marie's post above:

Gen Con Pick Up folks, I am in the office and am going to get started on getting you your PDFs. I am granting these in kind of an odd, labor intensive way, so if you are getting more than one PDF from your Gen Con pick up, it could be several minutes or up to an hour in between a PDF. Please don't freak out if you get the Core Rulebook and the AP doesn't show up right away.
Edit: I'm going to start a running list of which PDFs have been granted to those subscribers with the corresponding subscription lines that have been held for Gen Con pick up:
- PF AP 121 The Lost Outpost
- PF PC Elemental Master's Handbook
- PF Map Cavernous Lair
- PF Map Village Sites
- SF Corebook Pawns
- SF GM Screen
- SF Player Character Folio
- SF AP 1 Incident at Absalom Station
- SF RPG
- SF Map Basic Starfield
- SF Map Basic Terrain
