Most of Sunday seems less attended. Am I picking bad scenarios? Bad Time?
Things to consider
One: A lot of folks may not know what their Sunday plans are going to be looking like, including when (or if) they'll be getting dinner after post-con meeting/takedown/etc.
Two: Gen Con is still a month and a half out.
Three: Today is the start of the July 4th 'weekend' for some folks, and they may not be able to access the computer due to vacations.
|
Yeah, I haven't signed up for any of them yet, because I haven't finalized my plans. I usually drive home Sunday afternoon/evening (roughly 3.5 hour drive), but I did put in for Monday off from work to recover and do laundry/groceries. If I have a place to stay, I could consider staying Sunday night and driving home Monday morning.
Speaking of which,

I think we've got this worked out.

Not sure how many gamers will be swayed by this, but there is a total eclipse passing over most of the US mid-day Monday. People might be planning to leave earlier on Sunday than they otherwise would so they can see it.
I know I am tentatively planning to leave Sunday afternoon for the drive down to Kentucky to camp with friends. OR, if my friends can't get the days off from work and don't end up camping, I plan to drive from Indianapolis to Columbus on Monday and take a "short" detour through western Kentucky on my way so I can see it. Since plans aren't decided yet, I don't want to commit to Sunday gaming.
And I can't sign up for Wednesday gaming since I still don't have a Paizo badge. :(

Okay, I made my intelligence check, and found the Warhorn Link.
I have now signed up to GM, and found at my table TOZ and Wei Ji. TOZ, if you have them, I will happily borrow printouts of the maps of Ironbound Schism. I think I can get hold of Giant Lairs, but if you have printouts, that would be awesome.
Are we going high or low tier? And do you realize that my brain may be gone?
Also thanks to all who say they'll be bringing Chessex maps. I will have my markers with, and may borrow, though any maps drawn will not be to my normal standards.
Hmm
Ok, talked me into it. I just signed up to play, too. I'm excited to finally get the chance to meet and play with the (in)famous Hmm and TOZ!
As for subtier, I'd probably prefer low. I currently have 6 PCs between levels 7 and 9, but none at 10 or 11. I'm pretty sure I'll get one more up to 7th level, and one of my level 9s up to 10 before Gen Con. I just don't know which yet.
If you need me to bring a big rollup Chessex map, I can do that. I'm driving in, not flying, so I have car space.
Where are the Sunday evening games happening?

Ooh! Ooh! I get Fromper at my table too! And I'm infamous! Low tier Ironbound Schism would make me happy, because I am trying to entice Dean from Paizo to join us, and he'd have to bring a pregen if he did.
And I can now say I am infamous. Woo hoo!
Does anyone have Giant Lairs Flipmat? One less thing for me to draw?
Hmm

Low tier would take some pressure off of me, I could bring Shardra.
Alternatively, there is much butt-busting in the next month or so to get either Karasuma (Unchained Rogue) (who is at 6.2) Andrietta (Paladin) (who is at 5.2) or make sure Gibbs (Bolt Ace/Freebooter) is available (7.15)
We have some time yet.

Just grabbed the last two slots in Lyrics of Extinction for my wife and I. I can GM that table in a pinch but would rather not (we only rarely get to play on the same side of the screen)

Well, there's an idea - we could reunite Gibbs and Misaki. I think they've advanced 3 or 4 levels each since we played them together at Gen Con last year.

That'd work, actually.
Means I don't necessarily have to talk as much.
Sold!

It is good to be meeting you all! I am Bolt Vanderhuge, perhaps you are hearing of me? When first I hear the Pathfinder Society needing my prowess, I am in Irrisen. So I board ship for Absalom, but mighty sea creature engage us in glorious battle! I wrestle beast to sleep, then find ship is far beneath the waves. So I swim to Absalom, and go on many wonderful adventures!

"It's nice to meet you, Mister Vanderhuge. I am Misaki Hamamoto, originally from Minkai, in Tian Xia. It will be nice to work with Gibbs again. I haven't seen him since we visited Korvosa together, and met those cute little dragons, and helped the nice lady who runs the marketplace there."
"As you can see from my armor and weapons, I'm a warrior, when I have to be. But I prefer to be sociable and talk to people, and avoid conflict when at all possible."
A small, grey and black songbird sitting on her shoulder suddenly lets out a squawk: "ISSLES!!!"
"Oh yes, and this is Whistles. He's my... umm... spirit guide? Or something?"
Chosen One paladin archetype from Familiar Folio. Basically, she's a paladin who gets a familiar instead of the typical mount or bonded weapon. Misaki can best be described as a cross between a Disney princess and an anime girl.
Here's the other twist: They're both outsiders. Misaki is an aasimar, and Whistles is an archon. He used to be a thrush familiar, and he usually still looks that way, but I got Improved Familiar at level 7.

Soooo... Who is at my table? I gotta get ready mentally for the disappointment I am about to inflict.
I've got three 10th level options at the moment:
1. Eleazer, profit-driven Elven Wizard, with his voidworm Jehoshaphat. Eleazer has regrets about deciding to live with a being of pure chaos.
2. "Turtle" Ironshield, military academy trained Dwarven berserker, and chosen of Kurgess. The world's fastest dwarf. (Barbarian 9/Cleric 1)
3. Jonsi Jakobson, Ulfen bow-hunter turned missionary. Jonsi hopes to be an example of brotherly love among the conflicting factions within the Pathfinder Society. (Cleric 10)
I also expect to have an 8th level option by then:
1. Baz Nimblefoot, Halfling Sorcerer, whose Pathfinder father claimed that the reason his kid was a chatterbox was because he got bitten below the belt by a Gibbering Mouther.

This seems like the place to try an announcement. I'm staying at the KOA campground and I'm interested in running something Wednesday night. No tickets just post or message if you might be interested. We are probably getting in mid afternoon, so I'm flexible on time. I've got 1 other player already.

Correction: Ironbound Schism has 2 spots left. I currently have Wei Ji, James Risner, TOZ and Fromper in there. I think that is 2 Paladins, 1 Barbarian and 1 very taciturn Bolt Ace / Freebooter. We could probably use someone arcane... Maybe a bard or a skald or someone with knowledge skills?

Oh, thank you! Please do. Remember that I probably cannot transport it. I have one bag for the plane that everything has to fit into! Disk Elemental, when did you become a four star? Look at you!

Hilary, I signed up to play at your table Sunday evening (I'm a local Indy person, so I'll be in town). Since you're wisely keeping "Con Brain Drain" in mind, I'll aim for lower level - I'll figure out what I'm playing and let you know before a week or two out.
I would have signed up for Abducted in Aether Wednesday after Scotty's, if I'd seen this Email thread sooner. Darn it!
I may have missed it...but where are we playing?
|
Man, I got no players and I'm really tempted to sign-up to play at Hmm's celebrity table. I can be the sidekick!!
It looks like nobody's signing up for those other 3 tables. Maybe it's the choice of adventures. If others are interested in playing Sunday evening, maybe they should put in requests for different scenarios to put on the schedule.

Well, when I got home from work tonight and looked up my play history, it appears I've played the Ironbound Schism. I went ahead and hopped onto Gino's table of Refugees of the Weary Sky instead. Hopefully, it'll fill up with more players closer to Gen Con (since that's the only Sunday game I can play).

For anyone else playing in the Wed @ 7 table of #8-25 -- what levels are y'all bringing? I'll be playing my (then) level 14 paladin.
I think Gary mentioned a level 13.1 unchained monk? I'd be fine with either high or low tier.
It looks like I will be higher than 13.2. Figure at least 14 for me.

I've got a skald low tier skald named Roscoe that would like to join this table. I promise we will behave ourselves better this time.

I'll happily play at the 8-17 Refugees of the Weary Sky table if my Beacon table is a bust.
Other high level tables I could run with minimal review include:
1-32 Drow of the Darkand Pyramid (with inverted flying pyramid)
2-12 Below the Silver Tarn (my favorite)
6-23 The Darkest Abduction
7-23 Abducted in Aether

Awww. That's what experience points are for... Learning from our previous adventures, whether IRL or in game. Remember, what happens in Cosmic Captive stays in Cosmic Captive! You and Roscoe are welcome at my table.
