I've been looking around for the answer to this and, as far as I can tell, I can't find a definative answer.
So, there are at least two different magus archetypes that change magi into spontaneous casters (eldrich scion and mindblade).
So, the question is 'how does this work with spell blending?' Spell blending adds spells from the wizard (or psychic, for mindblade) to that magus' spell list, as well as adding those spells to their spellbook (which they don't have) and to their 'list of spells known.' Thing is, 'list of spells known' means vastly different things for prepared vs spontaneous casters. Do they add spells to their list of spontaneous spells known (essentially giving the benifit of spell blending AND expanded arcana) or what?
Thing is, they clearly intended for the mindblade (at least) to be able to take the arcana, because the class specifically calls it out.
Anyone know of any official rulings in this?
For reference: Spell Blending

Spell Blending adds spells from other lists, but it does not change the total number of spells known.
It simply widens where you can choose from to add to your spells known list.
In other words, it's not a very good arcana choice for charisma magus but it works.
I don't see where this arcana is "intended" for the mindblade above any other magus. Especially since the arcana predates the archetype by a good stretch of time.

Actually, it looks as though this arcana was specifically written to work with future spontaneous casting archetypes of the Magus class. It specifically mentions adding a spell to the Magus's "spellbook and list of magus spells known". It looks like this arcana actually does increase the number of spells known for a spontaneous casting Magus -- note that the Expanded Arcana feat has nearly identical language in this regard.

There's a lot of language imprecision in the rules. I've heard the term "spells known" used for wizards as well.... referring to spells that were listed in the spellbook. Expanded Arcana on the other hand WAS written to accomodate existing spontaneous classes like sorcerers.

Specifically, 'spells known' when referring to prepared casters means spells that have 'been deciphered' (the caster has made a successful spellcraft check to learn the spell).
I ask because, either blending arcana is super good for spontaneous casters (granting them expanded arcana and an expanded spell list) or super poor (essentially giving them a few extra spells they can use from wands and scrolls unless they spend extra resources to get it as a spell known.)
I only ask because there are like, a billion great second level spells as a magus and I want all of them. I just want to know if all my money is going into pages of spell knowledge.

Given the wording of expanded arcana as well as spell blending I would say spell blending adds the spell to your magus spell list. You can then wand and scroll it without the umd checks. You add it to your known spells either at level up or with expanded arcana or for purchase with page of spell knowledge.
