Magitech, the Alternate Racial Trait for Androids

Advice and Rules Questions

Hello all, I am planning making an Android character for an upcoming run in the Iron Gods campaign and have a few ideas and options for what to play depending on what the rest of the party picks.

Either a Wizard or Sorcerer if we need a pure caster or a Bloodrager or Magus if we need one a bit more combat capable, I'm wanting to play an Eldritch Archer Magus that will take the Technomancer Prestige Class as my favored option. All of those options lead me to the Android Alternate Racial Trait of Magitech. As written from the SRD and the...

Book of Advanced Races: Advanced Androids wrote:
Magitech: Some androids possess circuitry infused with magical energies, which allow them to better channel arcane power. Androids with this trait choose a bloodrager or sorcerer bloodline at 1st level and treat their Charisma score as 2 points higher for all bloodrager and sorcerer class abilities (including spellcasting) if they have that bloodline. Androids with both bloodrager and sorcerer class levels gains this benefit for both bloodlines if they have the same bloodline for each class. Additionally, magitech androids gain a +2 racial bonus on Spellcraft checks. This racial trait replaces nanite surge.

The simple benefits of this trait are pretty straight forth; a Bloodrager or a Sorcerer, or something else like a Blood Arcanist, who takes this gets a bonus to their class abilities that will even them out from the -2 Charisma penalty Androids start with and anyone would get a +2 bonus to Spellcraft.

But what would the benefit be to a class that does not normally have a bloodline? It seems there are some ways to get access to abilities from a bloodline without being a bloodlined class, the only idea that sounds like it could work is if you were to get the Eldritch Heritage feat tree and use the +2 CHA bonus on abilities it could apply to, like for Draconic, rounds/day for Claws and DC save for Breath Weapon. But even the it says "This bloodline cannot be a bloodline you already have", so it doesn't seem like you could even use the bloodline granted from Magitech to benefit Eldritch Heritage, even though it seems like the bloodline itself has no benefit other than the +2 to Spellcraft, and I imagine it's not worth giving up the Nanite Surge for that.

So, I guess the question is then, what would the bloodline from Magitech give a non-bloodline class? Thank you.

I don't see it as really different than, say, the Dwarf alternate racial trait "Stonesinging" which gives bonuses to earth-related class features. If you don't have any of those class features, it doesn't do anything for you, so you probably don't want to take it.

Racial traits period, let alone alternative ones, aren't supposed to be relevant or useful to every class, build, or situation.

Note that this is a third party racial trait; your GM might not allow it.

It helps no matter what bloodline you pick, and no matter how you get it. However, it is, as you surmised, mostly useless to characters that aren't going to get a bloodline.

OK, that was the impression I got from reading on it. The GM did sign off on using that book after reading on it from the SRD, so I ended up buying the PDF for it, it just won't be useful for that particular character build, especially with doing a 15 point buy. But thank you both very much for the clarification.
