Well, depending on where you're sweating, the hobo depots may be open all hours. It's brutal to try and sleep in this kind of heat! :)

Let me give republicans a peek at the next 40 years of discussing anything.
"We are a part of hard work...." That elected trump, a man than inherited his millions.
"We are the party of personal responsibility..." that elected trump, who hid behind bankruptcy laws and piles of lawyers to avoiding paying bills.
"We are the party of smaller government...." that elected trump, who is fine with bribing the government to throw you out of your house so he can build a parking lot for limousines.
"We are the party of true america!"... that gleefully celebrates the time when half of it tried to not be america anymore so they could keep owning people.
"We are the party of true racial equality!" that elected trump because he said the same racist things strait out that republicans have been hinting at since nixon.
You elected trump. Your arguments are invalid. ALL of them.

Wally World? They should have everything you need, even this late at night (if you're on the Least Coast like me). Could call 'em up and see if they have dry ice in stock. Maybe get a decent night's sleep. ;)

This is a complete, total, and utter non issue. You cannot harp on this and then tell me that the republicans are not the party of getting people irrationally angry to direct them away from the real source of our problems (the billionaires running both parties)
And on top of that, it's just the latest in a long series of witchhunts for the Clintons, from Whitewater to this email thing. Before this it was going to be Benghazi that finally took her down. (Of course in that one, Rep. McCarthy boasted about how it was damaging her politically.)
Years of investigations of multiple different scandals. Millions of dollars spent. Nothing comes of it.For me, it's just Republicans crying Wolf. There's been so much unfairly thrown at her, I just assume whatever the latest is is just more of the same.

Hitdice wrote:That's not what Comey said.He said she was "extremely careless" and that he believed hostile parties had access. The US code applies if it was willing or through negligence.
I guess it depends if you think extremely carless = negligence, I guess.
According to Comey, Gross negligence is the standard for the statute, which is an actual legal term. (There's also a higher level of negligence known as "willful and wanton.")
Looking at what Petreaus did compared to Hillary gave me a pretty simple way to give examples of the various levels of negligence, though -
Negligence: Hosting your top secret documents on an unsecured server.
Gross Negligence: Giving out the password to said server to your lover.
Willful and Wanton Negligence: Posting the password to said server on 4Chan.
The bottom line is that to be prosecuted and convicted Clinton needed to have f#%%ed up badly enough to meet at least that second level of negligence.
And after an exhaustive investigation the FBI concluded she hadn't, and that prosecuting her would just be a colossal waste of time of money.
Comey actually went well above and beyond for the Republicans with all of his "extremely careless" talk, even if the Republicans are too busy whining about the lack of prosecution to actually understand the gift Comey gave them.

It's not mindless repetition. It's a point of concern having a commander in chief that doesn't care enough to secure confidential info in a lesser job. Or at least it should be.

Question: At this point, how does the Republican party NOT get classified as a 'hate group'?
Certainly it historically hasn't always been, but looking at the RNC convention what possible argument could there be for claiming that the modern incarnation of the party isn't actively promoting hate against Muslims, Arabs, Hispanics, African-Americans, homosexuals, transgender individuals, et cetera.
Heck, it's practically an umbrella organization for hate groups.

Yes, multiple marriages would be much trickier without divorce. So what?
We've still got people ranting about defiling the sanctity of traditional marriage and supporting candidates with multiple divorces. That divorce is common these days does not mean it's part of traditional marriage.

I'm also pretty happy with Clinton. I know she's not perfect -- I absolutely strongly would have preferred Sanders -- but I think she's pretty decent enough.
You know I'm not certain I would prefer Sanders as a president.
I mean I agree that his positions seem to line up better with mine overall but he has demonstrated some surprising political blindness this year if his goal was really the presidency.
Personally I am of the opinion that Sanders is a much stronger Senator than he would be president.

Those are good points, and honestly, what also makes me wonder about a Sanders presidency is that his ideas are so far out there and there's only so much one guy, even a president, can do. I mean, unless most (or even a sizable portion) of the party was behind him, he'd spend his tenure pushing for things and the party not backing him up, and nothing happens. With Clinton, maybe there's a chance of the president and the party working together.

Republicans are running on the golden mean fallacy.
If the compromise position is what gets passed, republicans have been steadily proposing more and more whacky ideas. Its not maybe 6 ppm of lead vs 15 ppm of lead, its lets abolish the EPA entirely so that 20 ppm looks ok by comparison.
If you don't start at the loony left you wind up center right as the compromise. They win just by you agreeing to the game.

People getting divorced and remarried has nothing to do with 'traditional' or any other flavor of marriage. Supporting candidates on their 2nd or 3rd marriage has no correlation with the candidates' views on marriage itself.
In 2013 75 members of Congress and 4 governors were not married. Across both majority parties.

Being re-married, a divorcee, a widower or never been married at all has nothing to do with X. It is Joe Puke's marital status, plain and simple.
Except when X is "this ruins the sanctity of marriage" and Joe Puke's marital status is ALSO an example of ruining the sanctity of marriage.
