What could players really know about the Rain of Stars from a history check? I was looking for some references where it is talked about in the current time.
That's really up to GM discretion. The best resource is the Numeria campaign setting book.
Thanks, yes I have read the awesome Numeria setting book. I just didn't know if had the status of a myth that most people educated in history would come across, or if it was something only a trained astronomer would know, or what.

Most people in Golarion... including adventurers aren't what we would call..."educated".
That's why I was trying to be careful to say during a history check, but perhaps I should have prefixed with "trained". I suppose my interpretation is that ranks in knowledge(history) suggest an education of some sort.

I played a pathfinder seeker from the Mwangi Expanse in the Iron Gods campaign. My GM didn't let us read anything in the Numeria book prior to playing through the module in Torch. After we completed the module, we had been in Numeria long enough that he let us read the Gazetteer chapters. Prior to that, we only had vague knowledge that there once was a "Rain of Stars" quite a long time ago and that Numeria was known for its "strange magicks" aka technology.
Oh, I like the idea of opening up the Gazetteer chapters after a bit. Think I'll head down that route, thanks again.
