I have not been getting notifications. For any of my games. It was very puzzling. I figured it out this morning.

Panaka has a sour look on his face. "I don't know how I feel about leaving the Queen with only one protector. I do not doubt your capabilities, Master Qui-Gon, but I am not best pleased to leave her with only one protector. Perhaps I should stay, as well."

Anakin, he does the dance you are all too familiar with; he has a family to feed, you're swindling him, et cetera et cetera. This isn't your first rodeo, though, and eventually, he agrees to your terms.

You return to Watto's shop. You can begin repairs on the hyperdrive motivator, if you wish, or take part in some other activity. You had the day off for the race, and only accompanied Watto as a favor. The rest of the day is yours to do with as you please.

Also, once the group figures out who they're going to leave at the ship, we'll move on.

Did we lose Obi-Wan? I feel like he hasn't posted in a while.

I don't mind leaving the ship and helping. Or staying back and helping.

The ease of group's escape from the planet had left Obi-Wan with a vague sense of unease. The Queen's recovery and their escape had gone without a hitch and now, standing and gazing out into the swirling lights of hyperspace, Obi-Wan felt a presence that seemed to lurk just out of sight. A nagging feeling, that something wasn't quite right or that something was just around the proverbial corner. Waiting for him.

His reverie was broken by Gui-Gon's inquiry, and he returns his attention to the matter at hand. "I'm afraid I don't recall much of anything about this world, Master. If it is as lawless as you describe, then quickly and quietly identifying what we need and then leaving seems wise. The sooner we're away without alerting the Hutts... or anyone else... to our presence, the better. Gui-Gon will remain here, and I will assist in searching for these parts."

He smiles in answer to Panaka's concern, opining, "To be honest, Captain Panaka, I wouldn't be surprised if the Queen were safer with Master Gui-Gon alone then with the rest of us together. He's rather good with that lightsaber of his. And, for more, then making impressive sounds at that."

I think we can all leave the ship. Leaving Palme and Qui gob behind.

Excellent. I will assume you go with that.

You all head into the city proper, and it is a hub of activity. HoloNet searches reveal several shops that might have the parts you need, but by far the best bet seems to be Watto's. It's not far from the spaceport and it's likely to have what you need.

Assuming you go there, you find a Toydarian and a young Human man standing there.

Obi-Wan, you need not make a roll for this; the Force is about this young man, and there's no mistake. For a moment, it's like you're standing next to a storm.

Male Human Noble 1/Scout 3/Soldier 3

Although not thrilled at leaving the Queen with only Master Qui-Gonn for protection, Captain Panaka joins the others in scouting the city, looking for the hyperdrive part. His hope is that they'll be able to quickly locate and purchase it, without taking too much time.

Once they arrive at the shop, he allows Ralk and Kyra to do the talking. After all, it's their ship, and they likely know best what they need for it.

Jonjon will keep an eye on the shopkeep and his assistant but otherwise putter around the store, letting the ship captains talk. The heat and dryness of the planet were uncomfortable, but not impossible to deal with.

During the trip, it was unusual to be near others who were strange, like him, but he didn't say anything. He would keep quiet for now.

Bothan Scoundrel 7 | HP 68/68, Condition 0 | Fortitude 21, Reflex 24, Will 22 | Init +12, Perception +10 | Dark Side 1

When Ralk makes his landing, he breathes easy for the first time since leaving Naboo, although he doesn't let the others see it. Instead he just turns around and claps his hands with a smile. "Well, here we are, folks. As a couple precautionary measures, I'd warn you all to keep your eyes squinted, your hair covered if you can, and your wits about you. This is Tattooine we're talking, and not even Mos Eisley. You're not gonna find a more wretched hive of scum and villainy--believe me, I've looked."

So saying, the Bothan makes some quick checks before leaving the ship, including a search for the part and grabbing a spare cloth that he ties around his head to try and keep the sand out of his fur. Just before leaving, he gives Qui-Gon and Padme a long look. "Try not to let anything happen while we're gone?"

Once out and about, Ralk leads the way as best he can to Watto's, and he pulls the scarf from his head as he steps inside. "Alright, friends. I'm looking to buy and you're looking to sell. Just tell me, have I come to the right place?"

Sabe straps the blaster pistol to the small of her back and slings the larger blaster under her poncho. She somehow manages chic and eye catching despite covering half of her face. She isn't so much trying to be noticed as making sure that if the group draws any attention, that that attention is drawn to her.

She lets the scoundrels do the bargaining, watching their backs, evaluating the surroundings for threats. Her eyes catch the eyes of the human, and for a moment she forgets what she is looking for.

Not suuuuper sure how to play this since you guys left Padme on the ship, but...

Anakin looks up from messing with the hyperdrive motivator, and watches the sizable group enter into the shop, his eyes flicking between them curiously. They were clearly offworlders, it was evident in the way they carried themselves. He smiles to himself, thinking that he might be able to sell them on some junk in addition to whatever they thought they needed. He'd never screw someone over in a way that might be dangerous to them, but... well, there was nothing wrong with selling them some Mynock Protective Coating.

His expression quickly fades and his breath catches in his throat when he sees the girl walk in. It was as if she stepped right out of his dream. She was somehow even more beautiful than he had imagined. He starts wondering what to say to her as he stares. 'I saw you in my dream? Stupid.'

As he continues to watch her, he starts to doubt himself, though, somehow. While she looks identical to who he envisioned, something about her is off - a gut feeling. Not anything that's wrong with her - 'How could there be anything wrong with her?' - but a sure sense that she isn't the one he has been waiting for. He shakes his head, trying to clear it, but continues to stare at her, even as the Bothan begins to speak to him.

Anakin forces himself to tear his gaze away from her, and he smiles at the Bothan. "Depends on what you're lookin' to buy, but I doubt there's anything worth having that you can't find here."

Grrr... Sorry to be a hold up, folks. My board wasn't showing updates to my games and I'm not sure why. :(

The vague feeling of unease that their escape had engendered was still with Obi-wan as the small party left the ship. In a surfeit of caution, Obi-Wan pulls the hood of his cloak up despite the heat and conceals his lightsaber in a pocket. Fairly confident that he will not draw more attention to the group then any other off-worlder, Obi-wan focuses on keeping a wary eye on the crowds that they pass through in their search.

Entering the small parts shop at the trailing end of the party, Obi-wan glances around the room with curiosity. Normally he would have liked to have a look at the various tech on display, but he found his eyes inexorably drawn to a boy.... a young man, really, who was now looking them over with obvious curiosity. His breath catches in shock as he finds himself caught in a whirling maelstrom of the Force. The normally placid and idle flows of energy that constitute the Force were now a raging and dangerous sea, with the boy in the eye of the storm. Even as the young man's eyes stay locked on Sabe, Obi-wan focuses on him. Unbelievable... not even with Master Yoda... how?!? And this boy?

The storm dashing Obi-wan's focus to bits is broken a moment before the youth speaks. Feeling suddenly worn, Obi-wan draws a deep, slightly ragged breath. Feeling as though he'd just been tossed on shore after being dragged around by a rip tide, Obi-wan broke his stare and left Ralk to the purchasing while he thought. We are forced to land on this world, a backwater really, out of hand and now I find a young man who is so strong in the Force? It could be a coincidence...

But even as the thought formed, Obi-wan felt a certainty that this wasn't the case. It was destiny that had forced his path to converge with this young man's.

Just some staring for now. Obi-wan was caught completely off-guard by the presence of someone so strong in the Force.

"Our hyperdrive motivator is failing," Kyra says flatly, looking the youth in front of them up and down, before noticing the piece of machinery on the counter. "Huh, look at that? Turns out you've got exactly what we need. We can fix it ourselves, so no need to wait on the repairs. How much, kid?" Kyra gives a sidelong glance at Obi-Wan when the Padawan breathes in sharply, almost like he'd been punched in the gut.

"You alright, Obi-Wan? You sound like someone just knocked the wind out of you."

Male Human Noble 1/Scout 3/Soldier 3

Don't worry, while you were out there was an issue with all of the games. You may have to re-dot all of them.

Sabe can't help but notice the young man's gaze. And though she is momentarily taken with her, her training is impeccable. Seeing an opportunity, she moves close to the young man, allowing her hips to swing, making every effort to capture his attention, to draw him in further. Her hand reaches up to pull her veil lower, revealing her face. Her other hand almost touches Anakin on the elbow.

"We find ourselves in a difficult situation. Is there anything you could do to help us? We would be so grateful."

She leans into her polished accent, hoping to impress this kid, hoping he has dreams and that she can use those dreams against him.

Scout 4 / Scoundrel 3 [ HP: 95 / 95 | FP: 6 | Fort +23 / Refl +21 / Will +21 | Init +12 | Percept +11 ]

At Kyra's opening words to Anakin, his face visibly darkens slightly. 'Kid?' he thinks to himself, deciding that that was going to cost her an extra 10%. On top of the offworlder fee of 20%, of course.

As the other man seems to go pale, Anakin's annoyance is forgotten. "Hey, you don't look so great." He gestures to a container of water on the counter. "Please, help yourself. Maybe have a seat. It gets pretty hot out here, huh?"

Before he can turn his attention back to Kyra, Sabe catches his eye again, and as she implores him for help, he looks into her eyes and a smile spreads across his face. "Alright." He says. "You seem like nice folks, and I can sympthathise with anyone trying to get off this rock."

His mind races, searching for a way that he can cut them a deal, but also see this girl again. "Tell you what... Let's make sure your friend is alright, first, and then... I'll install the drive myself." He glances at Kyra, "500 credits. If you can find a better deal on the planet, I'll wed a Bantha."

Bothan Scoundrel 7 | HP 68/68, Condition 0 | Fortitude 21, Reflex 24, Will 22 | Init +12, Perception +10 | Dark Side 1

"Five hundred?" Ralk looks from Anakin to Kyra to the others. "Five hundred credits for the installation, or is that for the whole deal, motivator included?" The Bothan seems a tad aghast for a moment, lost for words, but he quickly recovers and grins, extending a hand. "For that price I'll kiss the Bantha myself. Before you go touching my baby, though, I need to know you've got a good head on you."

The looks going on around the room--the kid to Sabe, Sabe to the kid, Obi-Wan to the kid, Kyra to Obi-Wan, Panaka to nobody in particular--don't escape Ralk's own perception, but he figures it's easier to let them slide for now. He snaps his fingers once to grab Anakin's attention and folds his arms. "What kind of ships have you worked on exactly? Replaced the motivator in a YT model? Cause this one isn't quite like that."

Male Human Noble 1/Scout 3/Soldier 3

Panaka continues to sweep his eyes around the room and looking into the street outside, keeping an eye out for any potential threats. He hears the price the boy mentions for the motivator, and suspects their being gouged, but when the boy says he'll do the install. Panaka's face darkened. They couldn't let this kid on the ship - he'd likely blab about the queen's presence to the first person he saw. He hoped Ralk could negotiate that away.

It seemed odd that that Obi-Wan wasn't handling the heat well. He thought Jedi could just use the Force to make themselves not feel the heat or something like that.

I'm having some issues with the boards lately. Seems that the forum goblins ate my post. :( Sorry again folks. I'm not sure what's going on with my account.

Obi-wan's face flushed at Kyra's inquiry and the young man's offer. To let my emotion's get the better of me like that... what would Master Gui-gon say? Composing himself, he bows slightly in reply and says, "I should be fine, thanks you. I think it must have been the heat, as our new friend here is saying. I appreciate your offer." Taking a glass in hand, he draws a little water from the container and sips it, watching the young man quietly. I must clearly inform Obi-wan, but his potential is remarkable. We cannot seek to speak to the Council. Not on a mission like this one. And to leave him... but he is so old...

Uncertainty and anxiety bubbled through the calm composure that Obi-wan had just regained. Taking a deep breath, he suppresses the unwanted emotion as he clears his mind of distraction. Focusing on the boy, he watches, trying to learn what he can of him before they must leave.

This will be a content-rich post, with several things happening. You will have time to, as a group, go from one thing to the next. We're going to try this format out, because for the foreseeable future this is how I will have to post for this game; for the other games I run, they're adventure paths so it's a lot more copy/pasting rather than having to write the campaign myself :p If this format doesn't work/isn't fun for people I will have to suspend the game until such time as I can devote myself to it again

Watto, watching your exchange, floats on over. He bows to you as you enter the shop, quite polite.
"Welcome! Thank you all for stopping in. Yes, yes, Watto's Emporium has the finest after-market parts on all of Tattooine, and all of our products come with a three standard-year reliability guarantee. But please, let me offer you all some refreshments; the day is rather hot, after all. Please- water? Wine? Corellian ale? What's your pleasure?"

It soon becomes clear that this is, despite their used-parts status, one of the nicest shops on Tattooine. Watto is an excellent provider of service, and furnishes you with a datapad detailing all of his inventory and the listed price. He *is* open to haggling, but he does make sure to note that despite the fact that they've been pre-owned, his parts have all been refurbished by his amazing mechanic, the boy you've just met, and he claims that some of them work better then when they came off the assembly line. Essentially everything will be standard market price unless you negotiate.

Watto's Shop Inventory:
+2 Maneuvering Jets, 0.75 Hyperdrive, Basic/Advanced Atmospheric Thrusters, Combat thruster, Shields (SR 80), Shields (SR 125), Reinforced Bulkheads 30%, Armor +4, Heavy Concussion Missile Launcher, Medium Turbolaser, Advanced Cannon Enhancements,
Disguised Transponder (2), Recall Slave Circuits, Hibridium Cloaking Device, Cryogenic Chambers, Medical Suite

Obi-Wan, make a Use the Force check for me. Anakin, you can also make a Use the Force check; this is your first time around a trained Force user. Anakin, you will only get the information you'd get from the basic applications of Use the Force in the rulebook. Jonjon, you can do that too to recognize the magic about the boy if you desire. Obi-wan, though...

Use the Force DC 15:
You've never seen someone as powerfully touched by the Force as this boy.

UtF DC 20:
Wait...something is off. The Force is strong in him, true, but...now that you're concentrating, the amount of Force you're sensing isn't just his potential.

UtF DC 25:
You've heard about this; this boy is a Force Nexus. Powerful destiny surrounds him, and coupled with his raw potential (which is still quite impressive) it could be dangerous to leave him unchecked.

This scene will continue for as long as you guys want to shop/role-play

---------------------------------------------------

After some time, the door to the shop opens violently, crashing into a wall! A man comes rushing through, closing the door behind him and leaning against the frame, panting. You can all see that he is clearly a Mandalorian; however, he is not wearing his helm, revealing very short hair and tanned skin. He looks at you all, crouches down, and places a finger in front of his lips, indicating quiet, then motions with both hands for you all to get low, below where passerby could see.

Ralk, you notice that he actually flashes you some Smuggler hand codes;

Smuggler Hand Sign:
"I know who you are, but I'm not an enemy. I'll explain as soon as it's safe!"

What do you do?

Bothan Scoundrel 7 | HP 68/68, Condition 0 | Fortitude 21, Reflex 24, Will 22 | Init +12, Perception +10 | Dark Side 1

"As much as I know water should be my choice..." Ralk grins and shrugs. "I've never said no to a fine Corellian. Let's have a drink and talk shop, friend."

What follows is long conversation between captain and merchant, smuggler and supplier, pilot and mechanic, all rolled in to one winding speech. Watto's savvy and experienced, and so is Ralk, and they go back and forth on the finer points of design, make and models of different components, and whether or not a hyperdrive motivator can ever run as well as it says on the tin. Beyond the motivator, Ralk's interested in the maneuvering jets and the better hyperdrive, but he doesn't have the credits on hand to make a buy for them. "Don't suppose you'd be willing to let me race you for them?" he asks, snickering at his own suggestion. In the end, he just bargains for the necessary part, raising points on its hand-me-down quality, the fact he could just strip one from any cheap hyperdrive on the planet, and his ability to install it himself if need be.

Persuasion for Haggling: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (9) + 7 = 16 Well, unless Watto's feeling particularly helpful, that didn't work.

When the other man comes bursting in, Ralk is quick to reach for his gun, but he sees the man's appearance and actions. He waves for the others to get down as well, particularly when he notices the Smuggler's Signs, and he quickly responds with his own quick gestures. Explain now. What's going on?

... Wow. Okay.

Jonjon doesn't react outwardly to his perception of the boy. Obviously, the two warriors with him had *some* magic, like him. This man could possibly be a witch of some sort, so it made sense. Still, he would be cautious not to make the young man angry, lest he curse him or something.

When the mandalorian bursts through the door, Jonjon reflexively drops into a crouch, reaching for his strange powers to hide him.

Panaka will accept a glass of water from the Toydarian and sit down to wait for Ralk to finish haggling. He isn't happy about the delay, because every moment they wait here is another moment the Queen is alone with only the one Jedi for protection. Still, he knows he has to be patient, because it's not like he could just use authority to get this done quickly like on Naboo.

---------------------------------------------

Once the Mandalorian bursts in, Panaka has his blaster out and a dark look on his face. They could not allow the Mando to report their presence to the rest of the fleet.

"Yeah, 500 lock stock and barrel. Just don't tell the boss." Anakin says with a grin, doing his best to converse with Ralk, despite being keenly aware of Obi-Wan's eyes on him and his own eyes continuing to drift towards Sabe. Still, despite the distractions, he can't help but grin at Ralk's friendly attitude. "'Course," He replies, "I'd want to know the same before I let someone touch any of my ships"

"Built myself a Swoop and a Podracer." He explains. "Haven't gotten up to building a starship yet, but I'm working on it." For a split second his face darkens, as he imagines getting off of Tattooine and never coming back, and then it's gone, and he grins again.

When Ralk says his model isn't quite like that, Anakin can't help but laugh. "Some customisations, eh? Pretty common in those kinds of ships." He gives Ralk a knowingly look about the kinds of people who fly YTs. "Yeah, I've replaced a Motivator on a YT before. As well as a fuel injector, sub-light engine, uhhhh lateral thruster. In fact-" Before he can continue bragging, the man bursts through the wall. Anakin's heart starts pumping at the excitement, and the possibility of combat. Underneath the counter, he places his hand on a blaster, and waits to see what happens next.

Sabe sips from a glass of...is this water. The flat distilled water captured by vaporators on Tatooine is uninspiring compared to the various naturally mineralized and even sparkling water available on Naboo. Nevertheless, she drinks deeply, recognizing the feeling of water being pulled out of her body by this furnace planet. Compared to the water everywhere on her home world, this desert was like Naboo's evil twin. A somewhat humorous thought given her nature.

When she hears the haggling going less than well, she lowers her voice into what she and Padme call "the Queen voice" and she stiffens her back a bit. "Mr. Dall'rey, there is no need to haggle over such sums. We are prepared to pay what is necessary to expedite the repairs. What is important is that we get on our way as quickly as possible."

I'm willing to play the beggar if necessary, but there is no need to waste time haggling with these people. We should get back to the ship and get out of here.

Sorry, been sick as a dog the last few days. I'll post tomorrow morning, gotta sleep for now.

Kyra talks along with Ralk, trying to persuade the Toydarian to drop his prices on some of his additional upgrades they're looking at for the ship. She has little better luck that Ralk, still perturbed by the failure of the motivator in the first place, but does her best to help anyway. When the Mandlorian bursts through the door Kyra spins as she brings her rifle up and around, ready to fire; when she sees the smuggler signs she looks at Ralk, then nods along with his reply.

UTF check: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (9) + 15 = 24 Incidentally, should I know by now that JonJon is a Force User? I don't know that Obi-Wan would have looked for it, but I imagine its something he might do reflexively from time to time (if it even demands concentration).

No longer caught off guard, Obi-wan opens his mind to the light of the Force. The raging whirlwind of energy swirling around the boy proves less daunting to the Jedi Padawan now that he's prepared to face it. He's still awed by the young man's potential, but as he studies, he can't help but feel that something is amiss. To one trained in the ways of the Force, that vague unease was implicitly to be trusted and allowed to go about its own way.

Something, he was unsure what, nagged at the back of his mind. Clearly the boy had tremendous potential, but the way he seemed to draw the Force around him like a sponge drawing water left no doubt in Obi-wan's mind as significant.

Accepting the water from the youth, Obi-Wan asks in as casually an off-handed manner as he can manage, "That's impressive, to have built both a podracer and a swoop bike with only parts at hand. I don't suppose you ride as well? It takes quite a bit of skill, one without fast reflexes could end up badly hurt."

--------

Before he can take a moment to slip away to contact Gui-gon and to inform him of the boy and to check on his nagging doubt, the man bursts into the room. His hand reflexively moves towards where his lightsaber is concealed, but he checks himself when he sees he doesn't have a weapon. Seeing Ralk's waving, he kneels out of sight of the door, his hand free and eyes wary.

Not sure if I can reach out with the Force here to see what has him so nervous. Maybe swift action DC20 to sense surroundings to 'see'/hear what is going on the other side of the door?

That haggling check will not fly, but you can purchase whatever you like and add it to your ship. You may continue to RP in the shop a bit, just place it in spoilers.

Obi-Wan, JonJon is using Force powers around you, so I imagine it would ping, yes. You can also attempt to make UtF checks to Sense Surroundings if you like.

Ralk, he flashes some hand signs at you.

Smuggle Hand Code:
"Other Mandos. Looking for you."

After a second, you all hear the shuffling and crunch of many, many boots outside. A deathly silence falls over the shop. After a few quiet, tense moments, the footfalls move father away from Watto's, eventually fading into the general din of Tattooine.

The man that burst in stands up, slowly, relaxing a bit. He regards you, Panaka, holding your pistol at him. He doesn't seem particularly concerned; if anything, it seems like he approves of your caution.

"Apologies for the entrance," he says in a somewhat gruff, accented voice. "As I was attempting to relate to your Bothan friend, there's rather a lot of Mandalorians on this planet right now, and they're all looking for you. Good news for you is, I'm not with them. And I'm much better. You can take your fingers off the triggers, kids, I'm here to help. Name's Jango, and I can get you back to your ship safe. What do you say?"

Male Human Noble 1/Scout 3/Soldier 3

"And how would the Mandalorians know we're on this planet? For that matter, how do you?"

Panaka continues holding the blaster on him. You don't get to be Captain of the Royal Guard by trusting everyone.

"Come on, now, you don't think what's going on with Naboo is an accident? A lot of eyes are focused there. The main Mandalorian forces were tipped off because someone planted a tracker on your ship. I don't know who, or how...I might tell you if I did. Might not, sort of depends on how I feel at the moment. But you should know, not all Mandalorians are united. A good chunk of us see this conflict with the Republic for what it is; a fool's errand. The Clans are getting played, but some of them are too sodding dull to realize it.

I'm not one of them, nor is my clan. I've still got some friends in other clans, though, and they tipped me off. So here I am."

Anyone may make a Sense Motive check if you wish.

Now that he has stood up, Jango is impressively armed. He has a fully modified, kitted out suit of armor, a customized carbine on his back and two custom pistols on his hips. There's surely more weaponry and tech concealed in his armor. He has made no move towards his weapons, and seems fairly at ease despite the weapons pointed his way.

I think that got rolled into Perception...

"What makes you think I couldn't get us back to the ship on my own?" Kyra lowers her weapon from Jango's chest but doesn't take her finger off the trigger, eyeing him with suspicion. "Why plant a tracking beacon and plant an ambush, or disable the ship entirely? What would anyone have to gain from not just fighting us there? Ralk, something about this doesn't smell right to me." Kyra gives Jango a hard stare; Echani know body language, and if he's lying she's likely to notice something to tip her off.

Calm. This is what you trained for. You are the Queen. The Queen is calm. She does not take pot shots at random Mandalorians. She let's Panaka handle this.

Queen voice"It seems to me that Jango's people and Our own are both victims of the same plot. I suggest that we join forces with him and focus our energies outward, toward whatever Phantom Menace lies behind all of these machinations."

If he wants a shot at the Queen, let him show himself and take the shot at me...

Yep, I went there. Pretty proud of myself.

Anakin watches the exchange between the Mandalorian and the others for a few moments. The Mandalorian seemed sure of himself, confident. He didn't even seem to care that he had weapons aimed at him. Anakin found himself admiring that. But not enough to take his hand off the gun below the counter.

His eyes flick between the beautiful girl, to the soldiers, to the man in robes, to the Mandalorian, to the alien creature, back to the beautiful girl.
"Who are you people?"

Ralk pauses at the Mandalorian's comments, and in the moments that follow, he listens to the others. Finally, he smirks and shrugs at Anakin. "Nobody of consequence, if you can believe it." He looks back to Kyra and frowns. "Holster that. If he wanted us dead he would've started shooting by now. Not that we wouldn't shoot back fine ourselves," he adds.

"The uh, her Highness has the right idea. Clearly there's more going on than we'd realized, and this kind gentleman has offered to help us. He's about the only one who seems to be doing that, so I say we take the offer." The Bothan turns and looks at the rest of the group. "Unless people have a problem with that?"

But when he brings his hands in front of his waist, his fingers rapidly work out a quick phrase, hidden to the Mandalorian but visible to Kyra. Follow for now. Keep alert.

"Highness?" Anakin echoes, looking once more at Sabe.

The tension that had kept Obi-Wan in a state of whipcord readiness lessens slightly as marching boots are overtaken by the normal hubbub of the city. Standing at ease, nevertheless keeps his hands free as he watches the newcomer.

Perception: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (4) + 12 = 16

His careful watch for signs of deception are thrown off the ever more powerful waves of the Force emanating from the boy. He might as well have been standing near the shore in a storm and trying not to hear the waves. A strange boy and now the Mandolorians? Fate has taken us far from our intended path. He replies to the young man's questions in an undertone as he steps alongside him, "People from far away from here, though you've likely gathered that. More then that I can't say... for now."

Laying a cautionary hand on the young man's arm, he looks significantly at where Anakin conceals his weapon. Without looking away, he replies to Ralk, "There should be no problem. Do you know, master Fett, why they have not already secured the ship? Or is that what they are up to now?"

Male Human Noble 1/Scout 3/Soldier 3

Panaka sighs heavily, while secretly being glad Sabe assumed the Queen role. "As you say," he says, holstering his blaster. He continues to eye the Mandalorian with distrust, however. Ralk and Obi-Wan had answered the first question the boy asked, but at this second he fixes a scowl on his face.

"You will forget you heard that. All of you. As much for your protection as ours."

Kyra puts her weapon down, but still glares at the Mandalorian. "Yeah, unless he's planning to lead us into a trap. Maybe it's not him, Ralk, but something's not right. They don't even know who planted a tracker on us, but whoever it was I'd bet they damaged the hyperdrive. I knew I checked it. They would have known this was the only planet we could make it to. So why haven't they made a play?" Kyra looks around, then settles her eyes on Obi-Wan. "You haven't heard anything from Qui-Gon, have you? No one has attacked the ship?"

Obi-wan tears his eyes away from the Mandolorian and brings his attention back to the moment. He replies to Kyra's inquiry, "I have not, though it's possible that the signal could be jammed. Making our way quickly, though quietly so we do not lead them there if they have not arrived already, would be prudent."

Bothan Scoundrel 7 | HP 68/68, Condition 0 | Fortitude 21, Reflex 24, Will 22 | Init +12, Perception +10 | Dark Side 1

"Look, there's a lot going on that we don't fully understand, so right now I agree with the Jedi." Ralk pauses for a moment and glances at Obi-Wan, as if he can't quite believe what he's just said. "We should get back to the ship, quick, quiet, unnoticed. And with our new part."

Scout 4 / Scoundrel 3 [ HP: 95 / 95 | FP: 6 | Fort +23 / Refl +21 / Will +21 | Init +12 | Percept +11 ]

Anakin frowns at Panaka's order that he should forget he heard it. While he'd ordinarily like to argue with the older man about it, it feels easier now to let it go. But he was certain he wouldn't forget - in fact, he'd find out exactly what was meant by "highness".

As the others discuss their plans, he keeps his hand on the blaster under the counter, waiting for the proper moment to jump in, and he finds it as the Bothan mentions their still needing the part. With a grin, he interrupts. "Hey, since you're in a rush, you'll definitely want my help installing it." He nods to Kyra. "Specially if a firefight breaks out. You'll be needed protecting your ship."

Bothan Scoundrel 7 | HP 68/68, Condition 0 | Fortitude 21, Reflex 24, Will 22 | Init +12, Perception +10 | Dark Side 1

"Kid makes a point." Ralk turns and points at Anakin. "Kid, you're with us." He swivels to turn his finger at Kyra. "Kyra, don't argue. He's right about the install. You're a damn good mechanic but you're even better with that blaster. I know it, you know it, we both know we both know it." He then turns to Watto. "And don't you make a fuss either. We're borrowing him, he'll get back just fine. If not, you can take it up with the Mandalorians."

The Bothan pulls the heavy pistol from its concealed holster and flicks the safety off, readying it in case there's trouble. "Are we ready to go?"

Male Human Noble 1/Scout 3/Soldier 3

"I disapprove of this, Dall'rey. Surely we can take care of defending ourselves from any attack while Kyra installs the necessary part. We don't need to bring him along." Panaka objects to Ralk's decision to have the kid come with them. He wanted strangers nowhere close to the actual queen - at least, not without proper vetting and credentials.

Kyra glares at Ralk for a second before she sighs. "No... he's right. If we're going to be under fire, it's a better idea if I'm fighting rather than working on the ship. I'm a better soldier than mechanic, and I'm not small enough to crawl into the tight spaces anymore." Kyra looks at Anakin again, one eyebrow raised. "If this kid wants to do repairs under fire, I won't stop him."

Obi-wan folds his hands in his robes sleeves, faces Panaka and says calmly, "Captain, our chances of escaping the world will be better with whatever aid we can find. Should Kyra... fall -may the Force will it not be so- on the way back, we will be without a way from the planet. The boy is demonstrating considerable courage to help us, I think we should give him the chance to help us."
