The auto-summons (darkmoon/wolves/sentinels) seems pretty random. I thought I figured out how to get to happen more often, but then it stopped happening.

Some areas can't be summoned into. Usually this is for the dividing line between regions/bosses. For example, from the Crystal Sage, you can't summon in the area immediately after, you need to get almost all the way to the Cleansing Chapel before summons can happen.

I've been able to invade at the first bonfire at Ithryll Dungeon and the far end of the bridge at the Catacombs but then it stops doing it after a while .

Aldrich down during Anri's questline. I found that a flame buffed Dark Sword works wonders for whittling down the HP.

Weapon for people to try. The spiked greatmace that drops from Evangelists(Found in Undead Settlement and Cathedral of the Deep) Has a pretty good weapon art that breaks guard(might have to go two handed) plus it causes bleed. Good for narrow halls as well since it strikes downwards instead of wide swings. The stamina drain isn't too bad, unlike great swords that suck it all down.

Yesterday I started a new character wanting to try a pure archer. I started with a sellsword for the high dex but the I got stuck with the sellsword twinblades which seem to just make everything easier.

The basic longsword is actually pretty good as a starter weapon as well. Good range, decent stamina cost per swing.

Pontiff curved sword is a decent early weapon as well, the range is short but it hits a very broad arc around you which is nice when an extra enemy charges from the side or you're surrounded.

The dark wraith in the prison at high wall can drop the dark sword, which is one of the best all-around weapons in the game (highest straight sword damage, fast, good range, decent stamina cost). I run a refined one and my damage with Sacred Oath and a buff is pretty high. Very few things other than bosses can live through my stamina bar worth of swings.

Longsword and broadsword are excellent weapons for everyone, even casters if you use the Crystal Coal to make it scale with INT

Pontiff Curved Sword is good, but of course you'll have to get it away from a Pontiff Knight so good luck with that.

Dark Sword is nice, in fact many 'git gud' types hate it because having it buffed/infused lets you hit very hard.

I've heard that the Carthus(?) Curved Sword is a good weapon as well.

You can pick up a Pontiff Curved Sword from Greirat after he's done his first plundering mission. The uchigatana is the classic early Dex weapon, especially given that killing the Sword Master isn't all that hard once you know his weapon's reach.

I don't really see what's stopping someone from going pure archer given that there's a longbow right at the beginning of the High Wall.

Also, people can talk down to Farron Greatsword as much as they want. That stupid thing is one of the coolest weapons in the game with one of the most visually interesting movesets and I love it.

It's an awesome slip-n-slide of slashy, sparky, hacky death!

I haven't used anything else since I got.

Yep, it was my go-to weapon for my first playthrough. I've gone Dex for my second, and haven't yet replaced the Uchigatana as my main weapon (although some of the boss weapons are fun on occasion).

I would have gone for the farron greatsword too hadn't i been playing as a sorcerer. The time I had a character that could make good use of it, I accidentally transposed the wolf knight greatsword instead.

The Wolf Knight Greatsword does ridiculous damage against certain enemies (+20%).

Silver Crusade

Same for Farron Greatsword (anything Abyss related, so Darkwraiths and Aldrich, Pus of Man, maybe the Ghru?)

My character doesn't have a lot of health (got STR/DEX to 40 first), but one whack from Farron and it took 1/10 of Aldrich's health off. And that was when I was a summon phantom so his stuff was boosted.

And then you use the combo...

Unarmed Ghrus are insane. They will repeat that bloody neck snap over and over again.

ugh, I hate those cheap b@~%$es.

Arrows. A metric. F+$&ton. Of. Arrows.

To. THE. FACE.

Man. I know I need to go to Lothric Castle to finish the game but I'm drawn to pvp/co-op so much.

Silver Crusade

Same, I like helping people ^w^

With my sellsword twinblades character ive noticed that the unarmed ghru's AI flips out, i run up and start L1 spamming and somehow every single jump attack it attempts will land to the right behind me while I just eventually kill it, before my stamina runs out. It's weird.

Silver Crusade

The one in the swamp didn't really give me much trouble since I could about one shot it (Farron Greatsword!), it's the f*$*ing pair in the Demon Ruins that were the bane of my existence.

Right up there with the Croco-dogs of Irithyll.

Croco dogs get destroyed by bleed damage. Throw the Carthus Rouge on your weapon and you'll be set. They also take more damage from fire. Pyromancers kill them super quick.

For the Demons ruins one. When you run past the slimes on the ceiling and are near the pit, strike the wall to your right( while looking down the hall over the pit) That will attract the Ghru and it will fall intothe pit.

I remember when I went to the Demon Ruins for the first time. Eventually I just unequipped all my gear and sprinted past all the enemies for the items.

There's a weird thing with the pair of croco-wolves. If you can manage to never turn the camera to them, they don't aggro. They make noise like they're going to rush and kill you, but they don't actually charge until you look at them.

So it is like Amnesia

Silver Crusade

Also with the pair if you climb all the way to the top of tower where the Silver knights are it will break their agro, so hit and run tactics work on them.

The lake one I f*+!ed up with a bunch of Kukris (thank you item Stat scaling!).

I'll have to try that.

If you hug next to the wall near the ladder, you can pull them individually with a bow.

Visited Untended Graves. Man, it was creepy and things got an upgrade. The Black Knights were vicious and had what seemed unlimited poise since they facetanked heavy blows.

Ringed City, the last od the DS3 has arrived and with this, the Dark Souls franchise has come to an end.

I've started playing again on my PS4. New character, since the last one was on my friend's xbox. Already past the Pontiff, but if anyone wants to team up or wants help if they're just starting out, let me know. Haven't touched the DLC yet though.
