building a lvl 7 pally

Advice

so im building a paladin for level 7
Angel born Assamir,w/ scion of humanity
STR-16 + 2(racial)
Dex - 10
Con- 14
Int - 12
Wis - 7
Cha - 15 +2 (racial)

thinking of putting my lvl 4 stat bonus to int to make it 13 so i can use unsanctioned Knowledge

feats
Greater Mercy, Power attack, unsanctioned knowledge, need one more feat.

traits not sure yet

want it to be a 2h guy but also have decent AC.

any advice.
what AC should i be aiming for with all my gear.
Should i change my stats a bit any advice will be helpful

If you're looking for efficiency in stat points, start with 13INT and 15/17STR and then put your level 4 into strength. That would let you raise your starting DEX to 12 while ending up in the exact same place at level 4. It's always more efficient to start your secondary ability scores where you want them to be and then use level bonuses on primary abilities.

The Fey Foundling feat is incredibly good for a Paladin.

If you're going for Unsanctioned Knowledge, that's all the more reason to take the Magical Knack trait so that your caster level is only -1.

It's been said that Level+15 is a good reference for the minimum you want to see from AC if you're going to be in melee.

One thing you can do with an Aasimar is to take the Immortal Spark alternate racial trait and be middle-aged, which basically gets you +1 to all mental stats without major consequences (unless the GM decides to ruin your 24-hour Lesser Age Resistance spell). Though if this is for PFS, age doesn't affect things. Using Lesser Age Resistance every day isn't the same thing as having a permanent bonus, so it wouldn't help with things like feat prerequisites - but that's unlikely to matter.

EDIT: If you want an Aasimar Paladin with some interesting "magic", you could use a standard Aasimar that stacks charisma and picks up the Heavenly Radiance feats a few times. Wandering Star Motes and one-shot Sunbeam are pretty powerful.

im not understanding magical knack, does it mean the spells are casted as if i was 2 lvls higher or does it mean that at lvl 7 i can cast my lvl 9 stuff?

Caster level affects things like how long spells last or how much damage they do. If a level 8 Paladin casts Divine Favor, it acts like they are level 5 when calculating how much of a bonus they get. If they have Magical Knack, it will act like they are level 7, so the bonus from the spell is better. Tons of things are affected by caster level, but never spells per day.

Bad Bird has the right idea as far as stats go.

STR 15 (7)
DEX 12 (2)
CON 14 (5)
INT 13 (3)
WIS 7 (-4)
CHA 15 (7)

level 4 bump STR to 18, for perfect all around stats.
At 8th you can have CHA go to 18 as well.

feats:
1) Fey Foundling
3) Power Attack
5) Greater Mercy
7) Unsanctioned Knowledge

traits:
Magical Knack, Extremely Fashionable (pick up Intimidate as a class skill, and +1 to it and Diplomacy)

Seeker is also really good, and you can take it by taking a drawback, which I recommend Headstrong. It's a little cheezy, but paladins being immune to fear effects means that there really aren't any downsides to the drawback, other than you have to role play it.

Pick up full plate, and use shield of faith, haste, and divine power with Unsanctioned Knowledge.

If you really wanna buff your AC, take the Sacred Servant archetype and pick up the Protection (Defense) Domain, because you can then cast Shield as well as getting barkskin for all the AC buffs with little monetary investment. It also comes with a built-in Cloak of Resistance, saving you money on that. Oh, and your divine Bond can be used to give you the extra +1 CL that you were missing from magical knack for full caster level.

Then you trade out aura of resolve for planar ally.

Pick up a BFS, or a reach weapon and have at it my friend.

RPG Superstar 2012 Top 32

I made a 15 point human paladin with:

16 13 12 10 10 14

Traits:
Magical Knack
That trait from Riverlands or nearby that is virtual Weapon Focus longsword.

1. Power Attack
1. Human Bonus: Fey Foundling
3. Extra Lay on Hands
5. Mystical Healer (3pp feat on d20SRD page)

I went Sword and Board, had good AC, hps, healing, hitting, Diplomacy, good saves, etc.

Flexible, good at a bunch of stuff, didn't outshine anyone else, helped the party out well.
