I've been unable to download my PDFs for at least three days now.
I've tried in both Chrome and Firefox and I have tried from two different computers and networks, one running Windows 10 and the other running Windows 7. I've never had problems on either machine or network before.
I am unable to find any outage notifications, and I do not get any error messages. What the heck is going on?
(Yes, I have cleared my cache and restarted my browser in both Firefox and Chrome.)
Having the same problem, too. I imagine the servers are pretty busy tho. :P

I just tried Internet Explorer.
I wait 10 seconds after it says it is personalizing my PDF and then when I click again the page loads and nothing happens (no download begins).
Google has revealed that a hard drive getting full has been a problem in the past. Is that happening again? How has no one noticed in three days?

Same problem here, I think the Humble bundle just overload the server. If its just that, it's just a little wait for a good cause.
Heya! The other day we did find an issue that was blocking downloads, which is now fixed.
Currently, we are experiencing higher-than-usual traffic, which is causing the My Downloads page to work *really* hard and it's taking the service longer to churn through requests. I would recommend giving your download a few minutes to finish personalizing, or come back later on to attempt to download.

It's exciting to see so many people sign up for the Bundle! I have to agree, though--could it have been done on a different day? I've been trying to get one of the PFS scenarios for about four hours I think (give or take) and the customizer just has no shot in Asmodeus's domain of keeping up with demand. It's not that access to PDFs and personalization has slowed--it's completely stopped, as far as I can tell.

I've been trying to download Blood of Shadows since about 7:30. This is getting pretty ridiculous, and someone should probably see about fixing this issue.
I've been waiting a good hour for a PFS scenario to finish personalizing. Good to know it's not just me. It seems the poor server is pining for the fjords.
I have to agree with Terminalmancer. It's completely dead (and often just redirects to the home page). As one of the new Pathfinder hopefuls coming in from the HB, I'm rather discouraged and reminded of ComiXology's major push (http://www.ign.com/articles/2013/03/10/get-700-free-comics-from-marvel)
Putting aside the system's overcomplexity (why does everything redirect to the homepage when failing?) it seems clear we're all stuck. The Humble Bundle will be going for 2 more weeks, and every new addition is going to be struggling with the same issues. We're all going to be clogged. Then, assuming people keep trying and come back later, it's just going to perpetuate the problem.
We're in this for weeks.
Resolving this will need more than just a general request for patience. Either the system will need to be vastly optimized, the complexity reduced, or more power added (assuming the system is horizontally scalable).
I'm having the same issue as Saranis above; I click to begin personalizing and give it 10+ minutes to work, but nothing happens and when I click them again I'm either taken back to the homepage or reloads the My Downloads page.
I understand this issue stems from the increased load on the servers, but it would be inconvenient to have to wait a few days before I can download the stuff I just bought. Hope this issue gets resolved soon.

so the servers are down now? why didn't you let humble bundle distribute the pdf's instead of using your own server...if you had such a crummy server?
A valid point; Humble Bundle has demonstrated their ability to keep their servers up under high loads - there must have been a good reason they didn't handle distribution.
I'm resigning myself to waiting a day or two before trying to download my PDFs again.

Ugh. I really hope the site works tomorrow. I've got Pathfinder Society to prep for! There are going to be a lot of canceled PFS games this weekend, I suspect, if the scenarios can't be downloaded soon. :(
Anyway, optimism! It's actually much better in the long run that you get PDFs through Paizo's servers. The watermarking daemon seems to be the source of our pain this time, which kind of stinks, but there are good things about it too. This way the PDFs get updated, for example, when there's errata, and the watermarking is also the thing that lets you use a printout as a resource for organized play.
In the meantime, one of the wonderful things that Pathfinder inherited from 3.5 was the Open Gaming License. As a result of that decision, you can read through resources like the Pathfinder Reference Document (PRD) which contain a lot of Pathfinder content in HTML form. You miss out on some stuff, like most of the images and all of the campaign-specific work, but it's several days of reading at minimum.
(There are also a couple of other sites that serve as databases and repositories of rules and options, like d20pfsrd and The Archives of Nethys. They're not as good for learning the game, but they're invaluable for sifting through tons of material once you have the feel of things.)

For what it's worth, one of my downloads just went through! In time for me to go to bed (long past, really) but still, it's there. The other one hasn't been quite so lucky.
The bad news is that it suggests a 5.5 to 6 hour backlog and one of my PDFs seems to have been lost in the Humble-nami, so that might be half or a third of the total PDF requests. The good news, at least to me, is that the personalizer is somehow still chugging through things and the backlog might be a reasonable size. I guess we'll have to wait and see what the sales curve of the Humble Bundle looks like to see if the system can catch up or if it keeps falling further behind!
I get logged out every 45 minutes or so, so I end up having to revenues my files.

on that note either they didn't expect any where near this amount of traffic, or their admins are paid in left over tacos.
Definitely the former. This bundle has pretty much shattered any previous book bundle, so I think it has taken everyone by surprise, to a certain extent.
We VERY MUCH appreciate your patience as our site deals with the increased load. I understand how frustrating it can be to have to wait in situations like this, and we apologize for the inconvenience.

Hey guys, just think about it like queuing outside an iStore for that new iPhone or such. Must of us are getting INCREDIBLY good deals on AMAZING products, AND supporting a charity to boot.
I don't mind waiting a few days when I saved over a hundred dollars on my books.
Another thing to think about, they have been streaming PF all day over twitch, I haven't been following that so I don't know if that is going through their server which could be slowing the server down somewhat. Also if the tech group has played at all or is helping sort out Twitch they won't have been able to work on this.
Let's give them a day or two before we rage?

None of my downloads are working. Whenever I try to download a PDF I bought, the page just freezes for 10 seconds, then refreshes with no download.
Is this an extension of high traffic, or is this because of another problem?
