Do you get OT for long shifts like that?

Nope. Three separate jobs means no OT. my hospital job is super stingy on OT. It's been months since I scored any

Management at my job has had a mandatory no overtime rule for the last several months (my guess is that somebody at the office f$*!ed up bidding a job and the company lost a bunch of money). You hit that 40-hour mark for the week, and you're expected to stop what you're doing, pick up your tools, and go home, regardless of the circumstances. I got a phone call a few weeks back asking why I'd logged half an hour (USD $9.00) of overtime on a job.

Yup. Cost cutting is the word. They reacted to all the OT we were getting by hiring two more per diems. Which is why I now have three jobs :/

Since I work a 4 twelve hour 2-day/2-night shift rotation, OT is mandatory for me. We're a 24/7 operation since it's actually more costly to shut down & restart the production lines than to keep'em running once they're up and operating. The lines only stop when there is a problem or if we are switching products/ending an order. Even then, we will start another line up as we shut one down maintaining 8 lines operating all the time. That's why we get 4 days off- to compensate for the fact we gotta work weekends & holidays. It makes for a crazy sleep schedule for sure.

Speaking of which- Good night every one.

Truth! Freedom! Justice! Reasonably priced love! And a Hard boiled egg!!

How do they rise up? Rise up? Rise up?

Happy birthday Celestial Healer. May your day bring you plenty of good food, drink, and merriment in whatever order you prefer.

And presents! Don't forget presents!

Oh yes, presents are a given.

One way system – smooth and commendable
Go by bus – they’re highly dependable
The swings in the park for the kids have won awards
The clean streets acknowledged in the Lords
But what’s a park if you can’t see a linnet?
A timetable if your journey’s infinite?
My bag’s packed and I’m leaving in a minute
For what is Chatteris without you in it?

Car crime’s low, the gun crime’s lower
The town hall band CD, it’s a grower
You never hear of folk getting knocked on the bonce
Although there was a drive-by shouting once
But there’s a brass band everywhere
And I don’t drive, so I don’t care
And as a nightingale sang in Berkeley Square
What’s Chatteris if you’re not there?

Like a game-bird reserve short on pheasants
Weavers’ cottages devoid of tenants
A market town that lacks quintessence
That’s Chatteris without your presence
Three good butchers, two fine chandlers
An indoor pool and a first class cake shop
Ofsted plaudits, envy of the Fens
Prick barriers at both ends
But what’s Chatteris if you’re not there?
What’s Chatteris if you’re not there?
What’s Chatteris if you’re not there?
What’s Chatteris if you’re not there?
What’s Chatteris if you’re not there?
What’s Chatteris if you’re not there?
I may as well be in Ely or St Ives…

Thank you! I have had coffee and Cinnamon Toast Crunch, which I think meets the first two wishes. Now for some merriment...

Happy birthday, CH.

Who's at PaizoCon this weekend? I know Paris is, likely Taig, maybe TOZ?

Tordek did you go this year?

Here man, I bring you some of Kelly Ripa's stolen youth. Happy birthday!

TOZ is definitely at Paizocon. :-)

We are going out for crab legs. I have had a hankering.

And yes, whenever my birthday falls on a Monday, it is Memorial Day. When I was a kid I used to tell the other kids at school that we were having a long weekend because of my birthday.

Same here with President's day. :)

Eat a crab leg for me. Those things are awesome; plus you get vengeance on spiders, essentially.

Oh well. Next year ;)

I'm in a pretty good mood considering the long day yesterday and the lack of sleep. It seems as if my body is starting to set to six hours as its norm. I'm pretty stoked about that. One of the few benefits of aging I guess.

According to my new Fitbit the most sleep I've gotten in the past week and a half was seven hours, and I don't feel sleep deprived at all. My average is six and small change.

I'm going through the Tao Te Ching now. Interesting thoughts. It is so difficult to master a quiet mind. But the benefits of trying are amazing. I am nowhere near any proficiency, but I have seen a rapid improvement in my life since I began to practice mindfulness.

gone transport a play-house for the boy from one of Sabine's cousins,

they say we can dismantle it for transport , I am sceptical about this

we spend a nice evening this week with a spontanious over the fence chat with neighbours from 2 sides
when someone looked at a watch we realised we had chatted almost 4 hours

it started with an ambulance going through,
that brought us out and had to be discussed thouroughly

the ambulance asked us if we had seen someone lying in the street,we had not and after 15 minutes ofsearching they gave up and drove away

There's a reason I never want a Fitbit. I'd rather not know how little sleep or exercise I actually get.
