Finger surgery complete. Heavy painkillers initiated.
Management at my job has had a mandatory no overtime rule for the last several months (my guess is that somebody at the office f@#~ed up bidding a job and the company lost a bunch of money). You hit that 40-hour mark for the week, and you're expected to stop what you're doing, pick up your tools, and go home, regardless of the circumstances. I got a phone call a few weeks back asking why I'd logged half an hour (USD $9.00) of overtime on a job.

Yup. Cost cutting is the word. They reacted to all the OT we were getting by hiring two more per diems. Which is why I now have three jobs :/

Since I work a 4 twelve hour 2-day/2-night shift rotation, OT is mandatory for me. We're a 24/7 operation since it's actually more costly to shut down & restart the production lines than to keep'em running once they're up and operating. The lines only stop when there is a problem or if we are switching products/ending an order. Even then, we will start another line up as we shut one down maintaining 8 lines operating all the time. That's why we get 4 days off- to compensate for the fact we gotta work weekends & holidays. It makes for a crazy sleep schedule for sure.
Speaking of which- Good night every one.

Car crime’s low, the gun crime’s lower
The town hall band CD, it’s a grower
You never hear of folk getting knocked on the bonce
Although there was a drive-by shouting once
But there’s a brass band everywhere
And I don’t drive, so I don’t care
And as a nightingale sang in Berkeley Square
What’s Chatteris if you’re not there?
Like a game-bird reserve short on pheasants
Weavers’ cottages devoid of tenants
A market town that lacks quintessence
That’s Chatteris without your presence
Three good butchers, two fine chandlers
An indoor pool and a first class cake shop
Ofsted plaudits, envy of the Fens
Prick barriers at both ends
But what’s Chatteris if you’re not there?
What’s Chatteris if you’re not there?
What’s Chatteris if you’re not there?
What’s Chatteris if you’re not there?
What’s Chatteris if you’re not there?
What’s Chatteris if you’re not there?
I may as well be in Ely or St Ives…

According to my new Fitbit the most sleep I've gotten in the past week and a half was seven hours, and I don't feel sleep deprived at all. My average is six and small change.
There's a reason I never want a Fitbit. I'd rather not know how little sleep or exercise I actually get.
