There are some interesting things you can do with the Savage Technologist, but other than that, they're all pretty niche archetypes. Some of them are fun if your campaign uses a lot of the tech rules, though.
I'm working on building a techslinger for an Iron Gods campaign. I like the idea of getting him a cybernetic arm and simulate his use of grit for ammunition as him plugging his tech gun into his cybernetic arm and using bioelectricity to fire his weapons.
