Question with BAB +6 / +1

Advice

I'm getting confused with this. According with the class tables, some classes reach +6/+1 BAB at lvl 6. But what does this means?

As I understand, this allow the character to make two attacks as standard action: the first with +6 and the second with +1.

Is this correct?

Somewhere I read that this numbers are applied only when you make an attack as full-round action (like two-weapons attacks).

Thanks for the comments.

Not a standard action, as a full attack. If you don't move more than five feet before your attack and otherwise do not use your move action (or in other, specific instances, such as when a character with a pounce ability charges) you get one attack at +6 BAB and another attack at +1 BAB.

Yes, it requires a full-round action any time you take more than one attack.

But you can take your 5' Step any time in your round, even between your attacks:

The only movement you can take during a full attack is a 5-foot step. You may take the step before, after, or between your attacks.

Thanks guys, it's clear now :)

The specific quote from the Getting Started chapter:

Quote:
Base Attack Bonus (BAB): Each creature has a base attack bonus and it represents its skill in combat. As a character gains levels or Hit Dice, his base attack bonus improves. When a creature's base attack bonus reaches +6, +11, or +16, he receives an additional attack in combat when he takes a full-attack action (which is one type of full-round action—see Combat).
