Wiclas |

Just some spitballin' on possible relationships between Wiclas and others:
Wiclas was cast out of his village; the proto-rages of his youth were declared evidence of influence by evil spirits. He will sympathize with others who are similarly exiled or estranged from their family or community (possible connection to Whitethorne, though it could work for anyone, based on background).
It might be a trifle cliched, but there's always fun to had in the dynamic between a chaotic good barbarian and a lawful good cleric (cue the theme song from "The Odd Couple").
For Adam Cielo (or the scout to be named later), I dunno, maybe something like Inigo and Fezzik?

Wiclas |

How old was Wiclas when he was cast out? And where did he go? Ronan would appreciate his skill at arms, I think they would get along really well.
Wiclas was a teenager when he was shunned and 19 when he started his adventuring career. So by now, he's in his early-to-mid 20s.
It's entirely plausible for he and Wiclas to join forces; maybe they were both part of some adventuring crew and became buds. I guess it's partly dependent on Ronan's motivation for being in Elsir Vale. In an earlier post, I suggested that Wiclas would be there to back up a comrade.
The same could apply to Whitethorne, too.
Whatever'll be the most fun.

Whitethorne |

How is this for his history?
Whitethorne was born Galreave Hadrigan Pendriciax, but he has not used that name in many years. Not that it matters. Most of the people in the Elsir Vale did not call him by his name anyway. There are few left alive that remember his name, unfortunately, one of those people is his aunt, Sehernva. He means to correct that one day.
He hates his aunt. Because of her, he was treated as a second class citizen all his life. Barely tolerated, he lived at the edges of society. He was often in trouble for things he did not do or was even in the area to have done. The best he could hope for was their indifference, until he met Wiclas.
Though they are nothing alike, the two were often lumped together as troublemakers. Eventually, they began to hang out away from the others. Their friendship grew to the point that when Wiclas said he was going to leave and become an adventurer, Whitethorne left with him.
After being away for several years, he returned to Elsir Valley to look in on his parents. He found them dead. His aunt had been there. Before he leaves again, this time for good, he will see his aunt dead.
Whitethorne could easily be mistaken for a half-elf, but for his tail and unnaturally sharp teeth.

Looks good. So we have Wiclas & Whitethorne complete, backstory & crunchwise.
Wanted to say that there's nothing wrong with a character knowing multiple members of the party - the adventure starts off kind of assuming you've already come together as a group, there's not a whole lot in the way of segments supposed to make the characters get to know each other.

I like where this is going, but there's one thing I would change - Wiclas is not originally from Elsir Vale. He was just passing through and stayed there doing odd jobs and what not (the giant-rat-killing stage of his adventuring career). During his time in the Vale, he met and became acquainted with Whitethorne. Because he knows what it's like to be ostracized, when Wiclas was ready to leave, he suggested Whitethorne come with.
How does that bother ya?

I'm so sorry for holding you up! I'll get my alias together ASAP with all of the details. Backstory wise, do any of you mind if I'm the guy who was wronged by the hag? I'm just looking at story hooks now and I'm getting some ideas...
I'd be perfectly fine with more than one person having a beef with the Hag.
And I do understand all about holiday-itis. I just got over my own case, after all. :)
Adam, I think I'm fine with knowledge devotion.

Wiclas {Zack Muad'Dweeb} Barbarian
Adam Cielo {JuanAdriel} Duskblade
Whitethorne {Dax Thura} WarlockSo we are still looking for one or two more?
Pretty much, yeah. I might just hook you up with an NPC cleric, if you don't mind one of those tagging along.
Thoughts? I promise to run him as a very gentle DMPC. No plot armor, either.
So I've just been accepted to a game with a PC that I'm really keen to play. I'm going to have to bow out of this one guys, I think I would have just been phoning the cleric in anyway as nothing was really coming naturally to me. Good luck with the game anyways, and Happy New Year!
Sorry to see you go, but best of luck with your stuff!

Wiclas {Zack Muad'Dweeb} Barbarian
Adam Cielo {JuanAdriel} Duskblade
Whitethorne {Dax Thura} WarlockSo we are still looking for one or two more?
Someone (Grimdog, I think) was putting together a scout and there was one other person interested (Tara Ravenheart?) but they haven't been very active.
Dax Thura asked about Wiclas' background, so here it is:
As a child, Wiclas survived an outbreak of a deadly fever that claimed many other of his tribe's young. Wiclas' parents were deservedly thrilled, but there were some who thought his recovery suspicious, that dark powers had been invoked to save his life. In his adolescence, Wiclas began to suffer from outbursts of frightening violence. Superstitious tribespeople claimed this was proof of demonic influence, that Wiclas' continued presence would curse the tribe - for the safety of all, Wiclas must be sacrificed. The tribes' leaders, loathe to kill someone so young, banished Wiclas instead.
As a youth, he eked out a living on the fringes of civilization. Wiclas knew enough about hunting and foraging to survive, but he longed for companionship. His wanderings took him to the Elsir Vale, where he found that people would pay him hard currency to do work no one else would do: clearing out colonies of giant rats or guarding livestock from thieving goblins. It was also in the Vale that Wiclas made his first friend - a curious young man called Whitethorne. Like himself, Whitethorne was estranged from his community because of his extraordinary abilities. When Wiclas was ready to move on, he invited Whitethorne to accompany him.

Okay, I thought I was missing something. I thought some folks had been chosen and it just hadn't been posted here for some reason. I can still finish building a character.
I'm more or less working off of the idea that if you've submitted a character, you're in. Once we've got four or five people who're completed, we start, barring a grace period where other people who look like they're just about finished can get their characters in.
If more people were interested I'd do the traditional thing with deadlines and a set number of players and such, but I don't really see the point as it stands.

Didn't know they where back: dndtools
Nice place to help finding feats, spells etc.
Yeah, it's a bit edgy though - I know that on other PBP forums, they frown on linking to that thing, much like sharing sourcebook pdfs.
I don't know how paizo feels about linking to places that have d&d contents. On one hand, all the books in 3.5e are out of print, so pirating them isn't costing them revenue on that front.
On the other, some quick googling shows that WotC is selling pdfs, so it's kind of maybe not okay?
Anyway, I shant be browbeating people over how they obtain their rules material - I got mine extremely cheap secondhand after all. I just don't know how paizo feels about using their site as a 'medium', if that makes sense.
Maybe refrain from linking to that site, just to be sure.

TwelvePointFivePercent |
Didn't know about it, I just used it like the Pathfinder OCG, as I have all my hard covers in Spanish, and is just easier for me to copy-paste without need to tranlate to english. I'll try to contact a Paizo moderator, so he can remove the post if necessary. :/
It's probably fine. It's not like you posted a link to a repository of pdfs or anything.
As for the Witch, sure, you could do that as a sorcerer.

Blackie "Onyx" |

This is The Alicorn Sage
Okay, twice rogue and thrice sorcerer with the example "witch" spell list, call it the HedgeWitch (I don't think there is a class by this name anyway).
Blackie got seperated from other kobalds when their home was ransacked by young adventurers. She found herself as a mere child wandering the woods running from the fighting and "steel monsters." She was taken in by nearby lady, a witch, who kept mostly to herself out in the woods away from town. Sharess was the witch's name and she often made potions for the townsfolks and assisted with healing in times of crisis when the local clergy couldn't keep up. Onyx learned quite a bit from her as she grew older. Eventually Onyx was sent to a large city to aquire some rare materials Sharess needed for a special order. Upon returning, she discovered Sharess dead and the hag looting the hut. Onyx knew better than to simply attack right then, so she sought out others who might help her kill the hag.

Looks good. Once you're more or less completed, I'll start the game.
I'll probably throw in a wizard/archivist NPC, and a rogue. They'll be useful for the plot, I think.
Edit:
This here is Seikhart and Skreen.
I know that DMPCs are legendary for being a pain in the rear, but I don't think it'll be an issue here, for various reasons. They've joined you because of Seikharts holy quest, so you don't have to give them a share of the loot.

TwelvePointFivePercent |
The Archivist is mainly intended as a healer, actually. He's just dipping wizard.
Also, there's a few thematic spells I'd like to put on that witch list, that I think the designers forgot about, them being
Disguise Self, Dominate Person & Monster, Phantasmal Killer, all the Fog or Cloud spells. They're quite witchy, so the witch should have them.
