Friday the 13th, 2015. What happened to you?

I am now finally at lunchbreak, which started at 16:30 instead of 13:00.

Because our truck got a flat tire and we had to wait quite a while before the towtruck picked us up from the highway.
On top of it, it started raining a lot, heavily.

So what unfortunate things have happened to the other people of the board?

Some guy with a hockey mask has been following me and my sarcastically teenage friends, we're going to try to lose him by splitting up in the old campground by the lake.

Had a sub yesterday, came back to 3 pages of behavior notes and some items stolen from my personal desk. Have 27 kids in for detention - during my 23 minute lunch. But it is FRIDAY and I'll finally get to spend some time gaming with friends.

Liberty's Edge

My grocery list will require multiple carrying trips from my car to my apartment.

Nothing has happened to me. I've been too busy goofing off on Paizo to do anything yet.

Perhaps a nice walk thru that old abandoned factory where they had that fire twenty years ago today will help.

I had some minor formatting issues involving a Javascript bug.

And it rained.

Worst is when the rain comes down so hard, you're drenched within 20 seconds...or less.

I add a new one, as i lost my 10 euro tip in a gods-know-how sort of way.
It was in my pocket, it's gone now.

Liberty's Edge

I got paged for three 'emergencies', my day started at 0430 local (it's now 1330) and there's no end in sight and I'm down to my last nerve.

On the other hand the vending machine gave me two packets of peanut butter crackers by accident.

The brakes of my car broke.
No wait, that was yesterday.

I got the bill today. €600.-

I was walking through the woods...in the dark when I happened upon an old cabin. Inside I found this book looks like it's made of skin or something

Yeah, but their server room was built on top of an ancient pugwampi burial ground...

Scarab Sages

A puppet wearing a crown walked up to me and asked, "Miss Fairchild, I presume?"

I told him he was incorrect, which is unusual for him.

Mine started yesterday, when my wife's pickup (while I was driving it) got hit by a van backing up w/out looking where he was going.

Today I got some good news, but I also discovered my discalculia won't permit me to put a slip cover on a sofa. I tried for over an hour to figure it out, but I finally gave up and drank a shot whiskey.

Heading out on a road trip to Texas with some friends, got passed by a pickup truck that had some dude wearing a skin mask and holding a chainsaw, figured he was just a tree stump carving artist burned in a fire, I am sure it will be fine...

Hey me, too!

I'm covering for our warehouse guy while he is on vacation. Only got 3 trucks in total today but all 3 had about 20-30 pieces each, with about 5-7 separate orders in each pile. May not sound like much, but when they happen to be 50 lb frames and 100 lb steel doors, it gets overwhelming.

P.S. I'm the only one working the warehouse today.

The day is not over yet, there's still time for more troubles and travails, but for me:

I work overnights, so my shift started 10 pm last night thru 7 am this morning. I was supposed to set mods in the pharmacy area, then go help stock housewares and domestics. Then at lunch, my boss was leaving for the night because he hat too much OT and told me I'd have to also finish the mods my partner was doing before going to housewares and domestics; my partner had to go to the backroom in order to try to deal with the overwhelming freight coming in for the holidays already. So I had to try to fix mods created by a stoned orangutan in an office in Bentonville, set them, fill them...then go to HBA instead to finish the freight. Why? Because the original plan was for me to deal with housewares while a coworker went to HBA, but that never happened, so the stocker in HBA ended up leaving and there were carts to be done. For good measure, two of us got HBA done, only to have about 8 pick n packs arrive, after last break, found scattered all over the back room. They would have been a multiple-hour job, but we're not permitted to pick up OT (we'll get paid for it, of course, then written up for it). So...they got left.

And this was probably the most successful day this week.

My hours got increased again. At this rate they're just going to keep cranking up until the January Overtime Hell.

I have a feeling my boss is going to ask me to work late, I'm going to love telling him no. :-)

Left the house and realized I forgot my glasses inside (which I need for driving), but it was sunny and I was running late (of course), and since I had my perception sunglasses, I just drove off. Got to work and went to charge my phone (which was almost dead), and realized I had also forgotten my charger. I was finally able to beg/borrow/steal a charger from a co-worker. Got out of work, but now it's raining (which wasn't in the forecast!), and I only had my sunglasses. I had to decide whether to drive home in my sunglasses (and not see due to darkness), or drive home without glasses (and not be able to read signs or license plates)...
But the day isn't over yet!

And so strikes the Friday the 13th curse, some A**hat stole my lunch out of the office fridge. Was not in a bag, and could not be mistaken for anything but the Wegmans sub that it was. Checked the trash cans round the office to see if anyone left the container so I could start my investigation, alas, that turned up nothing. Now I am hungry, out 7 bucks, and very angry.

I keep telling you, reading the phonebook isn't something normal people do for fun.

Today's actually pretty alright for me, but in the spirit of the thread, I just had an hour-long meeting whose purpose was to suggest revisions/updates to a certain procedure document. The document is 23 pages long, and in an hour we got through 9 pages, so I get to do it all over again on Monday, and probably again on Tuesday.

And it's all mostly pointless because the whole document was so incompetently written that it's literally unusable for its intended purpose, and these little updates aren't going to help. It needs to be re-written from scratch. But that's unlikely to happen in the foreseeable future, so into pointless meetings I go. :/

Update here: Power went off for about 15 minutes (including DSL), but it's back and won't delay dinner (spam & baked beans).

Edit: Hmmm, maybe dinner is the bad thing.

Well, the worst thing that happened to me was when I got home and read about what happened in Paris. Until that I had a pretty normal day.

The button on my pants came off right before I started work. Fortunately, I had a belt and it wasn't an issue. My thoughts are with those in Paris right now, though. That's a tragedy beyond mere bad luck. =(
