After receiving the mail that mentioned a new shipping method was added, I started wondering if there is any good way to compare shipping methods prior to actually trying it out.
Could you point me to a method on how to compare, say, the estimated prices and duration of the different shipping options for my newest spawned order, Order 3737234? That'd be a great help in deciding whether I want to change from "Cheapest" to something faster.

The best way to do this is to add items to your cart and begin the checkout process. On step 2, Shipping, you can change the shipping methods and see how much each is. You don't need to finish the checkout process so you don't have to worry about making a second purchase by accident.
For this particular order Standard Post, which is what is selected, is the cheapest option at $4.93. The next cheapest is First Class at $16.35. They scale up pretty quickly from there.
