Wild shape into templated form

Rules Questions

Can my druid wild shape into templated versions of animals? For example, giant dire bear, or young elephant? Stats are uchanged, but other characteristics are kept. Or no?

Thanks!

No, Wildshape is a polymorph effect using beastshape as a base. It is subject to the same restrictions unless specifically altered.

Nope. A Druid cannot wild shape into templated version of animals.

The only exception to this limitation is the Eagle Shaman Druid archetype. They can wildshape into young template Rocs. This is due to the lack of available alternatives for Eagle Shaman Druid archetype and affects them only.
The Eagle Shaman Druid archetype ruling appeared in an FAQ on that archetype.

linky
Handy FAQ to know about.

Thanks dragonhunterq for the link. :)

OK... So, no young giant octopuses? ;) Maybe, you can tell a good choice for a medium animal with lots of natural attacks?

I am asking because the description of wild whisperer druid archetype was "errated" (nerfed), in the middle of the game, of course. My DM says that it's OK and I can assume forms of large and huge animals (but on 10th and 12th levels), but I'm thinking about "fair" using of ability.

Thanks!
