Is Thinblood Resilience good choice for Empiricist?

Advice

I'm building half-elf investigator with empiricist archetype. So he will not get Poison Lore and Poison Resistance (basically poison immunity).

Should I swap Elven Immunities with Thinblood Resilience to mitigate his weak fortitude progression?
(I will also get Dual Minded alternate racial trait to boost will save).

So it's not PFS legal, don't know if that matters.
It's up to you if you want really good against enchantment or pretty good at both. Personally I feel you can use spells and items to deal with poisons easier than will saves, but just one players view.

If you get poisoned or diseased, you take some stat damage usually. If you get dominated, terrified, paralyzed, or slept, then you pull out your phone and read some stuff until the GM tells you what you do during your turn.

For that reason, I favor Elven Immunities.

Will is important, bud Investigator has it as strong save and gets +2 bonus from Dual minded.

On the other hand he has only D8 hit dice and fortitude progresses increases slowly. But I'm not sure how common are poison and diseases in Pathfinder adventure path.

1 person marked this as a favorite.

Diseases are a nonissue, unless you're playing Mummy's Mask or something. They're slow and you can fix them out of combat.

Poison is a bit scarier, but like I said, it's usually just stat damage. Some lesser resto and you're as good as new. It also generally requires you to be hit (thus, making AC a pseudo-save) where will saves you generally just get targeted

Delay Poison basically stops poison for the length of the adventure. It's a level 2 spell. Cure Disease is level 3. Lesser Resto fixes the damage the disease does, and also is level 2. If you want to stop enchantment schools? Mindblank comes online at 8th. Prot X will give you a second save to suppress the mind effect, but that's better for people who've got good will saves already.

Thank you – you have persuaded me :)
