I found all 5 seasons plus crusade at Costco for super cheap 20 each..hmv used to have them going for90 a season

Keep an eye for development of G'Kar and Londo. They are buffoons and jerks in the first season but they grow to be so much more...
I could never really get into it. I tried, but it just didn't click for me. I have a friend, however, who practically thinks that anything Straszynski (sp?) writes should be added to the Bible.
Babylon 5 was the most awesome TV science fiction show I have ever seen (even though I didn't get to see the last part of Season 5. Too bad it got basically swept under the rug -- seems like many major powers in the media business world really had it in for Babylon 5.
...welp, now I know what I need to go locate when I have the spare cash. It's been a good ten years since I watched this last. Used to watch it as a kid with my parents. It was our Sunday Night Viewing.

Love my DVD set, but I'd also love to see them finally put the series on Bluray.
Sadly will never likely happen. The CGI would fall apart under high-def, as it wasn't designed for that.
If they are released, it will likely just be DVD quality on Blu-ray discs.But, hey, more episodes per disc I guess.

When you realize what Michael O'Hare was going though during that year he was on the show, it makes the performance that much more awesome.
And it shows just how great a human being J.M. Stracyzinski is.

That's the thing that baffles me on some of the shows. I suppose it ultimately boils down to money.
If you kept it at DVD quality, but put it to Blu-Ray, in theory you could fit an entire season worth of a TV show on one Blu-Ray.
Less Space taken up and everything else.
It's my favourite scifi show also. If you enjoy deep characters in such a setting, you might also like Farscape - it pales in comparison, but is still a good show on its own, with interesting characters and an unsual setting for the protagonists.

I always thought that B5 and Farscape were both in their own ways reactions to Star Trek TNG. B5, with its big series wide plot arcs and character development. Farscape, by giving us a starship crew that was completely and utterly dysfunctional.

THE CGI could be redone to look better. They were repeating almost all of the shots anyway.

Well, JMS burned a lot of bridges by claiming DS9 ripped off B5. There are a lot of similarities between the shows, and I like them both. I don't think Paramount stole the idea, I am pretty sure they had DS9 in development when JMS pitched the idea to them. But there were a lot of people in the industry that were against the show because of that.

As a Battlestar Galactica ans sci—fi fan, i was always intrigued by B5 but never really took the time to watch it. That was untill 2 years ago, when a friend of mine insisted me SO MUCH to see at least the first episodes that i gave it a shot.
Today, it remains the ONLY series in which i have ever cried. Seriously, the last episode was a freeking ninjas—chopping—onnions fest.
Lando and G'Kar are by far the BEST characters , their relationship grows at an amazing rate and you manage to love/hate them at the same time, in several ocassions.

Babylon 5 always got moved to god awful time slots in my area.
I think there was a stretch where it came on at 4:00 in the morning on Sundays, so it pretty had to be taped to be watched. (Though now that I think about it, we had a bunch of Sci-Fi shows that didn't air until after midnight.)
(And I can also remember the Fox station with it running an ad highlighting all of their Sci-Fi shows. The first time the ad ran it included B5. The second time it ran later that week, B5 was conspicuously absent. B5 was still on the station, but the station would not advertise it.)
My parents and I loved the show, but man. Our local station sure as hell didn't.
