Advice

Hey guys, I've been away from pfs and I have a Inquisitor that just hit level 5. He is a base inquisitor with archer focus. Took the feather domain and planned to take boon companion at 5. Anyways I am debating on picking up a archetype leaning towards monster tactician and just keep working on archery feats (not sure on the rules for retraining and need to look it up still)

Shadow Lodge

Sorry to say, but Monster Tactician is illegal for PFS. (I was also thinking of trying it)

As for retraining, it's in Ultimate Campaign, with the addition of Prestige Points to the price as per the PFS Guide.
Paraphrasing: it's 5 days per archetype, requires 5 days to "lose" an archetype, but it the archetype isn't currently modifying (or won't if applied) any abilities, you don't need to retrain (most likely at low levels, 5 is probably to high).

I also play an inquisitor, and I recommend the Preacher archetype.
Especially if you don't use the team-feats.
I've lost count the number of other PC's saved by using it (aka, "GM, re-roll that Crit.").

That is really annoying...why make the class if you are gonna ban it right away...I plan to take the teamwork feats for archery. Guess I can take boon companion at level 5 and get my pet up to par. I give it the 1 point into int so i can pick up some combat/teamwork feats for it. Hmm I looked at the preacher and it is decent but I just didn't click with it. Any other archetype to take a look at?

Banned for PFS only effects that subset of players who play PFS. Sp for many (most?) players of pathfinder something can be interesting and useful while banned for PFS such as anything for evil pc's etc. As I play PFS only at conventions which is at most once a year for me banned or not banned in PFS is of no real interest.

This particular archetype looks like it is rather complicated and in the hands of many players prone to slow the game to a crawl which is a real problem in fixed length games like PFS, made worse by the lack of knowledge about the player. There are players I game with who could use this without slowing the game much and others who I would discourage from taking it

In between groups atm so wanted to play a little on the side. I could see it being a bit complicated but then why not ban summons in general then :P What about the sanctified slayer or more melee?

Leaning a bit towards Sanctified slayer. Right now I have a animal companion but debating on changing domains. (Need to see what other domains Erastil has)Is it worth keeping the companion? I have a cha of 7 and no points in handle animal...didn't realize it was important. What other domain would be good for a archer?

Sorry touching bases on this post again...haven't played yet and hoping to do so this sat. If I'm gonna respec I'd like to do it before this session (lvl 4 and officially level 5 sat...so want to spend the PP while he is still 4 :P) Question is still the same, plan to keep Erastil (he has a Faith trait) This is for PFS, so looking for a good archery type archetype..preacher is ok but I like the teamwork feats. Also I currently have feather domain (yay perception) and unless I dump all my skills into handle animal (untrained) I really have no way to control the animal

Personally I really like the feel of the Sin Eater combined with Sanctified Slayer. You end up having greater invis and SN at level 10 which is very powerful and I like the flavor of sin eater.
