Actually, if we went the Skulls & Shackles route, I'd probably make an aquatic sorcerer, but with a more eastern flavor that links him to a sea dragon. Instead of fringes, he has little antlers.

Not sure if that would be something of admiration or mockery among his peers.

Shadow Lodge

"Are you a kobold or a deer? Shave those foolish things down!"

no cousin he is a dragon descended from the eastern ones..

Lots of good kobold options, but could we sort the kobolds so they each fit into a group based AP. Pick which AP you're considering of being a part of and i'll keep things listed.

/interested

How many players are already in? How many tables will be filled?
What is the time-table? Start ETA, End ETA? (I'll be out of country in October)

My vote would go to Skulls and Shackles, but I'd be happy to play any (Unfortunately I already GM'd Carrion Crown (part 1-3)).

I'd also be interested in this

As far as AP goes I don't really mind which ones with the exception of WotR, which I think doesn't fit, and IG, which I just don't like. S&S would be the easiest fit but would also lead to the most normal game where the koboldness of the PCs has the least effect on the game.

Truthfully any AP except kingmaker.

I have been dying to stat up a kobold shaman, with the life spirit making him the divine caster healer type, but the AP selection such as Skull & Shackles might move the idea towards one of the other spirits......

Pathfinder Adventure Path, Rulebook Subscriber

I would like to try this too, as far as the AP to use, of those listed the only I am not in or running is Council of Thieves so that would have my vote. Regardless, I'd play this regardless of what AP you use.

I like the idea of kobolds fighting giants. Giantslayer!

I think its safe to say the interest is here lol

I'd probably toss in a kobold sorcerer, either using the draconic bloodline or the kobold bloodline.

And he will be the most demanding thing ever. :P

I'm thinking a kobold bloodrager, just for the comedy of a weakling warrior.

Don't forget, kobolds work best in teams. A plan never hurts, and ambushes will give you a big advantage, because you set the fight up on your terms.

For example, work with a kobold sorcerer to plan out an ambush. He uses Expeditious Excavation to dig out a hole and everyone hides in it. Then, he sets up trap runes and starts luring enemies his way. Bad guys come around, see a lone kobold and move in. They walk over your hiding spot, you leap up and start jabbing them into the trap runes while the sorc blasts them with fire (or whatever element he goes with), the thief is sneak attacking with your flanking and the cleric is buffing you or debuffing your target.

Never underestimate the power of a group of kobolds with prep time. They're like the Batman of fantasy games.

Agreed. Kobolds are great team workers.

I'd consider the special kobold archetype for fighters. It's great for teamwork situations.

Could you post it? I'm not familiar.

I remember one game where we had 2 fighters taking teamwork feats. They were a wall of offense, and they didn't take a lot of damage. They saved our party of 4 more than once.

Liberty's Edge

Only got the briefest of chances to play a kobold; campaign died out after everyone's first post, sadly. Would be fun to try another one. Kobold pirates would be quite the jolly tale, but I'm mostly ambivalent to the AP itself.

The more I think about this, the more I like it.

That makes 30-32 (unless I missed some) and qualifies for multiple tables?
I own a paper version of Carrion Crown and the first Module of Reign of Winter in pdf. The problem is I never DM'd online before...

Well it comes down to "Where the eff is the gm?"
You only need like 4 people to do multiple tables but you do need 1 GM to do multiple tables :/

I'm with ya, Gobo. I haven't seen her(him?) post in a while.

I am still here. I said that it would be a month or two. It looks like Skulls & Shackles is the most wanted. So I will open a recruitment in a few weeks.

If others want to run kobold games, that would be great as we have so many people who wants to play.

Ahh. I missed the month or two part, sorry about that then :)
As a general, there is a massive amount more players then gms on this site, and its rare for gms to be wanting players.

Indeed, I think that the horde of players actually outnumbers Gobo's Horde!

XD
love it :)
buuuut your wrong. for my horde is numberless, as infinite as the night sky and we are coming for you... >:(

Is this still going to happen?

Oh. Whoops, I missed that somehow. Sorry.

I already played this adventure to the end. I'm out.

Skulls and Shackles is fine with me, never played it before so it'll be new.

Sounds good to me. I am still thinking about the best shaman for this.

My top three would probably be Council of Thieves, followed veeeeeery closely by Carrion Crown and Reign of Winter.

I do love the idea of kobolds running away from danger, only to have to come back and face up to it like the little dragons they are. Has a very Monty Python kind of feel to it, and definitely seems like something kobolds would do.

"Attack! Get it!"
*3 rounds later*
"Run away! Retreat!"
*next day*
"Are we seriously going to try this again?"

I salute this! Reign of winter would be awesomely amusing.

Just picturing the black Knight finding the Kobolds and then giving them the power to go save Baba yaga is such a great mental image XD

3 people marked this as a favorite.

Actually, I wanna throw my vote in for Reign of Winter. I just remembered that you end up going to Earth, Russia if I remember correctly, around the time of WWII. Just imagine the looks on the Russians' faces when a bunch of small lizard-like men pop out of nowhere >:3

I have not actually played an Adventure Path yet, but I know about a lot of them, and all of them seem equally interesting. To me, Kingmaker would be the funniest. Just the idea of those little guys finally getting to live up to their dragon heritage, becoming powerful despots!

Not sure why, but I see this turning into a fantasy version of Invader Zim.

*Small liazard holds up platter* I DID!

Shadow Lodge

As I've haven't played Reign of WInter or Skull & Shackles, I'm okay with either.

.... *Burns a hole as large as a dragon's hoard.*..... Dot.

Kobolds are bloody awesome.

Kobold sorcerer, or kobold alchemist..... Decisions decisions....

Wonder if my Wyvaran that thinks he's just an overgrown Kobold would be okay....

My vote still stands for Reign of Winter.

Actually, thinking about it, a kobold paladin would be hilarious. Just the mental image of him trying so hard to keep everyone in the group safe and out of trouble. Like a little scaled babysitter herding a group of extremely grumpy little kids around.

Perhaps a kobold paladin who rides a giant weasel and uses a two pickaxes as his "holy weapons". And constantly yelling at them not to touch things that aren't their's.

More like herding cats

My votes are Kingmaker, Serpent's Skull, or Skull & Shackles.

Just wondering if this is still going to be a thing.

I'm super late, but I'd like to say I'm also interested.

Silver Crusade

The OP is long gone. Interesting concept, though. I'd love to play it!

Yea, I believe we have been trolled. Best keep their name in mind in case they show up again.

As I said before: It will be a month or two.

It has been a month. SO I will start the thread by the end of next weekend.

Yay, you're back!!

It helps when you message people, like I did.

I been having computer troubles part of this week, and not am sick.
But I will have the recruitment post up tomorrow.

Just wanting to update on the delay.
