As far as distance goes....it doesn't work in pathfinder well by RAW. The game is built around relatively short distances. Lets take a perception score of 35. That's 20 skill points + 10 wis modifier + 5 extra gimme points. Now lets say you take 20 from your sniper perch. So your perception check is a 55. Pretty high huh? Not really. DC to detect a visible creature is 0 but modified at +1 per 10ft of distance. So, you can't actually detect a visible creature beyond 550 ft. No matter how far you could shoot....you can't shoot something you can't see.

Deadshot yields 10 BAB based shots @ 1d12+10 = 10d12+100
Auto crit = 40d12+400.....average damage of 660 if all attacks (vs touch) in deadshot hit. There is some other stuff in there too (statics that don't matter and some bonus damage from named bullet).

Nice! What sort of range can you get on that?

Liberty's Edge

I was thinking about this thread and reading Distant Worlds today and sure enough, No Gravity does away with the maximum number of range increments. (Still penalties, though.) Just another way to get that.

You could use a Hunter who sends his Ac to get eyes on the target and looks through its eyes. I don't remember what level hunter that requires, though.

Sadly, the OP is more interested in raw yardage, not damage. Did look up Bolt Ace, but those aren't really geared for long-distance sniping either. They still get the crossbow base range increment but I couldn't find any deeds or grit feats that would improve on it too much, and firearms top out at 40'.

That's a boatload of damage and if you have a Paladin giving you access to his Smite via Aura of Justice and an Antipaladin doing the same using his aura (You'd need to be a neutral follower of a good aura deity) along with the Paladin dropping Aura of Righteousness, you could put out a lot of damage. Especially if they have items improving Smite.

But yeah, I'm looking for distance and not single-shot damage.

Ypu could also use a Double Hackabut for some funsies.

I actually made a funny Ninja Mysterious stranger with a.hackabut and vital sstrike and sniping... now THAT was funny...

Edit: i forgot To mention, use an immovable rod as a stand :p

Turns out this thing can let you see what you're shooting.

Gentlemen, update your arsenal. Skill unlock perception eliminates (most) or alleviates the need for a forward scout.

This is a fun thread.

The sight issue can be solved with a Clairvoyance spell with Enlarge metamagic applied. Either someone who can cast it on another person, or possibly a potion. Maybe a magic item that can let someone use an Enlarged Clairvoyance spell at CL 20.

With Enlarge it goes up to the long maximum of 800 ft + 80/lvl. So with CL 20 that's 2400 feet of sight range. Then you can see further with perception depending. But still, it gets you in the ballpark of where you're shooting.

A heavy trebuchet has a 400 ft. range increment. Does that help?

Siege Engines not allowed, posted in first post. Still, a 400 ft. range would be fun.
