Hey there gang! Just curious - if I submit an item for RPG Superstar, will there be any sort of confirmation, or not until voting is open? I believe I clicked "Submit", and I'm under the impression that things went through, I just want to double-check because I am incredibly excited to be able to participate in this competition, and would be terribly disappointed were I to find that my entry was never really "submitted".
Apologies for being new to the forums.

Now you start thinking about maps and monster-making. Read up on the campaign setting. Think about an adventure just in case you get to that point.
I dunno man. You have maybe a 3% chance of making the top 32 randomly. By odds alone, you should also plan on getting kidney failure.
I think you should just move on to other RPG design projects if you are serious about it.
That's kind of a pessimistic point of view. Maybe I'm just in a downer mood?

I voted over 500 times last year and saw my item twice. That's a minimum of 8.3 hours voting (what am I doing with my life) if I were perfectly efficient and voted as soon at the system allowed me to.
It may be some time before you can verify your item is in there with your own eyes, so do try to relax.

I read this and thought you meant...plan on RPG Superstar and kidney failure. I laughed pretty hard. Then I realized you probably meant plan on RPG Superstar and work on other projects.

I just submitted.
I've got ideas on what I need to do for the second round already. But I'm going to relax and go back to writing my own system, or go back to work. One of the two, maybe both.
Gotta say, I have a STRONG feeling this year. I feel like the Blazing Nine REALLY helped get me ready.

Fair point. If I just DQ'd myself, I will strongly regret it. But An important lesson learned. :-)
At least I'll get all that valuable feedback when the Voting closes. Not that any feedback I got before was not valuable.
Just excited.
Though not an auto DQ, it is something to consider. Luckily, this first round is entirely popular votes instead of judge final picks. So you may get a pass. Just be careful in the future. Hopefully all is well, and I wish you (and everyone else that has or will enter) good luck this season.

It says the 16th on my view of the page here in the UK, so you have SOME time... so best to check the schedule page yourself from your own locale to be sure.
BUT...
Don't leave it to the last minute because if you do, you risk the internet delaying your entry, server crashes as we, all of us that is, refresh waiting for voting to start, etc etc.
Don't do it, because if you post in a frenzied rush, you will mess something up. I can almost guarantee it.

Seconding Anthony's post.
I posted last year in the last day. It showed.
I didn't get enough feed-back, and it resulted in a VERY weak item. It's a good idea, to give yourself some buffer time for possessing, and uploading and whatever backend stuff Paizo must do.
Don't want to get all that work done, and not be able to submit due to time zone shenanigans.

I submitted at a point in time between a week ago and a week from now.
I spent a good 30 minutes trying to figure out why there were 10 or so random commas in my entry. Then, I realized my apparatus' screen was dirty.
I need a new apparatus to clean the screen of my apparatus. Someone please take this inspiration and enter "The Apparatus of Apparatus Cleansing and Apparatus Maintenance Apparatus of Apparatuses". Another idea is the "Apparatus of Superstarian Xanax Dispensation".

I submitted a little while ago—not saying when exactly—and now just have to get ready and do my finger stretches for voting!
(You'd be amazed how easy it is for them to just cramp up on you after only a couple thousand votes! :D )

You can't do that!! If you release us, then I'll have no excuse to be missing work and I'll get fired for not having a better excuse than "I did not feel like coming in today," and it'll be ALL YOUR FAULT!!

Template Fu wrote:I promise to stop feeding on template errors if I get in Top 32! :PYou're more correct than you know. Once you make the Top 32, the system prevents you from posting under aliases in the Superstar forums. Template Fu will no longer exist here.
That alone is enough to make me question the advisability of me making the top 32. One of my few redeeming qualities is my willingness to hide behind other identities. That way, nobody has to put up with me for overly long.

Just image how silly your posts will appear when all your aliases revert to your real name and you have 20 posts on a page.

I just felt my stomach drop.
FML, I have been ever so careful in cultivating a positive online presence for my real name. I don't use social media, I know every single result that appears connected to me. I have successfully pruned ones that reflected poorly of me. I know for a fact that there is literally nobody else in the world who shares my full name with me.
I am not feeling well at all about this now.
The aliases are the suppliers of context for some of the less than professional things I've said on here.

I wouldn't feel too bad about it unless you're posting multiple times on the same topic with different identities, in which case I will inform you that I am here for you if you need a friend so you don't have to talk to yourself in a thread.

Yeah, he does that alot. When you view the top responders to a thread, you can sometimes see a couple of his aliases on the list. So another change if he makes Top 32, is too see him skyrocket to top thread responder, while his aliases disappear...
