"Oh no... This isn't a good sign, those Taldan men have had their throats slit. Be careful everyone."
As we walk into the other room...
Spellcraft to Identify Spell: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (6) + 7 = 13 spellcraft leaves something to be desired though...
"Great job guys, keep it up! MASYM WHERE ARE YOU GOING?! ITS DANGEROUS TO GO ALONE!"
This is going much better than that spider, but what has gotten into him?
Seeing that one man is left standing, Nerissys moves to block the remaining exit. Move action to get there, standard action ready to punch him if he gets into range.
Maybe we can get some information out of this one. What is he doing down here?

Nerissys identifies the little blue dead creatures as mites and the man is...a man.
Olga's aim was just a bit off.
The man activates his aura and draws his heavy flail. Everyone in the cone needs to make a Will save DC 13 or start acting like they are under the effects of confusion. So, right now I need Will Saves from everyone except Masym and the Skeleton.

Will save to avoid derping all over the place: Will Save: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (5) + 5 = 10 Derptastic. It doesn't affect this since the DC was 13, but would this be considered an enchantment effect?
LET THE GAAAAMES BEGIN:
Confusion Effect: 1d100 ⇒ 7 Well that is anticlimactic
What the hell was that? I don't think I'll get any closer than I have to...
Move action to back away. Are characters aware that they have failed a save for an effect?

Oh crasr%%$#... Salouris thinks as he sees a cone of SOMETHING head towards him.

Panicking, he notices swarms of spiders crawling all over him. The elf scratches and claws at himself to try and remove the creatures.

His skeletal servant pays no attention to the hysterics behind him however, and diligently advances to strike at the remaining foe.

Will DC 13, vs Enchantment effect: 1d20 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (15) + 2 + 2 = 19
Jalthas appears to be unaffected by the strange behavior taking some of his companions. His clunky armor closes the distance between it and the man, and the falcata slices through flesh and bone.
Mwk Cold Iron Falcata: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (17) + 5 = 221d10 + 4 ⇒ (10) + 4 = 14
| GM Crash |
With the swipe of Jalthas' falcata the man looks like he is knocking on death's door. "Darn you all!" he says. He grabs a symbol around his neck and a cloud of negative energy emerges from him and he collapses. Channel Negative Energy: 1d6 ⇒ 4 Everyone in the aura must roll Will Saves. DC 14 to take half-damage.
Combat over!
Rathor
|
Will save: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (17) + 7 = 24
Now that's how you roll a Will save, Rathor!
As the lingering negative energy in the air dissipates, it appears that Rathor is at death's door, too. He grumbles as he clutches his own holy symbol and attempts to offset the damage done by the evil cleric.
If anyone else needs healing, he waits until they're gathered around before channeling.

"Glad that business is over with. Shame we couldn't take him alive. Judging by the way he went though, I don't think it would have mattered... Now about that holy symbol..."
Nerissys moves to the corpse of the man and searches it. Then she does the same to the slain mites.

Nerissys then crosses her arms and taps her foot while waiting for his return.
Jalthas

Will: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 2 = 10
Jalthas feels the full extent of the priest's wrath, and gasps for air, at least until Rathor's soothing presence can be felt.
"Is... is it over? Did we win?" Then he sees his own blade covered in the man's blood, and the voice dies down.

A sly smile creeps across her face:
"Maassssyyymm daaarllliiing, you can come back now! The big scaaaawwwy man is all gone now!" ;)
Nerissys then crosses her arms and taps her foot while waiting for his return.
Masym knows nothing but terror, even though in a small part of his mind he knows its not real but unfortunately the rest of his body did not care.
Until...it just vanished. Taking a second to reconnoiter he realizes he is in pitch black darkness.
Sonofa...OK no need to panic now...
Nerissys's voice is welcoming to hear though the tone did send shivers up his spine.
OK just play it cool here...
Using the sewer wall as a guide for his hand, he eventually makes his way back to the others. Noting the dead priest and also the others searching the remains he nods. "Did ya miss me?" He smiles carefully.
Salouris
|
Will Save: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (14) + 2 = 16
Confused and hallucinating, Salouris feels a wave of bad energy wash over him, then just as suddenly finds himself bathed in the healing embrace of conjuration magic.
"Ah, excellent. My thanks to...whichever of you put a stop to that man."
The elf steps over the fallen cleric and frowns. "I wonder what he was doing down here?" He looks back up at his colleagues and shrugs. "Whatever his purpose I doubt he's the one with the Jet Rat; if he was I'd think such creatures would be infinitely better guards than mites." Salouris's last word is said with a scoff.
"But yes, perhaps we should go on?"
Crash, I'm unsure how long travel time is down here. My skeleton will re-crumble after 10 minutes, so if we'd hit that point just let me know and feel free to take him off the map.
| GM Crash |
I'll say five minutes have expired when you get to the final area on the current map.
Making your way across all the planks and down all the halls they find a large dam. Someone constructed it here from wood scraps, ship beams, broken crates, and rocks. Beyond the dam is a room that once functioned as a catch basin for the sewers but now has dry, clean floors. In the northwest corner of the room, a sewer grate is set in the floor, and a huge chalk drawing of a rat about to pounce is sketched on the floor near the dam. There is a torch on the west wall and a human sitting on the floor against the north wall, looking bored until you guys walk in. Then he stands up and says angrily "Hey you aren't supposed to be here!"

Salouris

Salouris walks through the sewer, mentally rolling his eyes at the drama unfolding behind him. Humans. So emotional sometimes...
Turning round a bend to see another armed figure before them, he almost smiles. Good. Perhaps combat will distract them from their feelings
"We could say the same for you!" the elf shouts. "Now stand aside!"
He beats a soothing rythym on his drum and concentrates, sending thoughts of terror into the fighter's head.
That guard needs to make a DC 15 Will save or be frightened for 1d4 ⇒ 1 rounds.
Meanwhile, he gestures at the figure, and the skeleton advances to slash at him.

Masym nods, "Yeah seems a pretty safe assumption here." Cautiously moving across the sewer path he hops down and examines the chalk drawing of the rat. "Ehhh...wonder if this is more than just decorative..."

"An obvious assumption would be that the beings who drew this - and who may be below - would be connected to our Rat." Salouris concurs with Masym. "Of course advertising that fact would be stupidly reckless."
He looks at the fallen guard, dropped where he fled. "So yes, I expect a connection very much."
Masym Daleare
|
Masym looks at the grate with a grim look on his face. Talk about a perfect bottleneck. Anyone who goes down first is an easy target.
"I'll go first." He replies.
As he looks over the grate he examines it closely to see if any obvious dangers are present.

"I- I- I'll go next. I doubt anything wrong could happen with so much metal on my back. Except falling on my back and not being able to stand up again." the distressed voice says. "Of course, that would be terrible. Oh my..."
| GM Crash |
The trinket is not special since the trap has already been triggered and it requires an Appraise check. The trap doesn't reset and there are no more traps. The chalk drawing of the rat is just decorative.
Going down through the grate is uneventful. Reaching the bottom of the ladder (with the help of the light spell) you see a bunch of wooden buildings that are run down. Checking out a lot of the buildings shows that they are abandoned and/or boarded up. The buildings that have red x's on them are the buildings that you checked out that are abandoned.
Salouris
|
"Well, at least we're out of the sewers. Technically." Salouris says as he looks around at the ramshackles houses in disarray around them.
Noticing another chalk rat drawn on the ground, he points to it and orders his skeleton, "Move there." As the undead walks forward, the elf smiles. Won't get us a second time...
I'm fine being near the front (archer in combat), but Salouris isn't exactly a front-liner. He'll follow next to Nerissys (so 3rd or 5th, depending on how the rest of you feel.)
Rathor
|
Moving forward with his bow drawn, Rathor squints through the darkness with his keen orcish eyes. "These buildings may all be ruins, but someone had to bring these barrels and crates down here. Stay sharp, everyone."
Readied action to fire on anything that attacks.
Masym Daleare
|
Masym quickly takes lead of the party, while allowing the skeleton to proceed ahead of him.
"I wonder which direction they will strike from. Watch your backs." He warns the others.
Masym will take point and allow the skeleton to trigger any traps ahead.
