Special table requirements

OK, I know this is an FAQ, but I didn't find it in the FAQ. If there is a place I should have looked to find it, please point me there, and I will feel suitably stupid.

Is there a summary somewhere of the table requirements for the multi-table specials? That is, I'm looking to answer a couple of questions for all of the multi-table specials. First, how many tables are required for the special to go? Second, what level ranges are necessary? (E.g., do you have to have a table at each level range, could you do with a whole bunch of tables that are all 1-2, etc.?)

Is there a summary somewhere for all of the specials that lists these answers?

I suspect you can piece some of it together. For instance, since I was at PaizoCon, I've got "Siege of Serpents", and I see that it says near the beginning under "Running the Event" that you can run it with as few as 5 tables. But it doesn't tell me about the requirements about level range representation for the 5 tables. Also, I'm sort of hoping there's a concise summary somewhere.

There are no level requirements. It's all about the number of tables.

The required table numbers should be listed in the scenarios description. Like this one.

Does that mean by the same logic that Siege of the Diamond City has no minimum table requirement?

I am looking to run it in a Play by Post, in Core Campaign, here on the boards later in the year. Thought this thread appropriate to ask in!

Should be :( Siege requires 5 tables.

Huh, that's annoying. So it can never be done for PbP. How about Legacy of the Stonelords that too doesn't mention table requirements on the store page.

Is that also 5+ tables minimum and therefore impossible to PbP?

It is not impossible for PbP at all - Feral organized a PbP run of Siege of the Diamond City, and met the minimum table requirements, not too long ago. Also, keep an eye out for the next PbP Gameday in September of this year, you may be surprised. :)

EDIT: All of the specials have a minimum table requirement, to answer your question. All of them are either 3, 4, or 5 table minimums. (And no GM should run more than one table in a PbP Special.)

Ohh that's fantastic to know. Was hoping to run Siege of the Diamond City as my 4th scenario... maybe we will get to it for September!

My 'campaign' is focused around Season 5, so I was really hoping to use Siege to kick off level 2 and Legacy as the final scenario for them.

You have renewed my hope in doing those scenarios!

Thank you both for your answers.

Isn't there a requirement for a minimum of 15 tables (or virtual tables for a PbP) TOTAL for the event as well in addition to the 5 table minimum?

As far as I know, that's just the minimum table count requirement for the event to get official con support.

Silver Crusade 4/5

Mike, I believe that's the case for the newest specials (Siege of Serpents and Sky Key Solution), but they get opened up more generally at the end of the season. But the Siege of Serpents offered as part of PBP Gameday IV had about 30 tables of the special, and over 200 total, so it's definitely doable.

Yeah, once a special has been out for a year anyone can buy it and run it as long as they meet the min tables for the special. It's only during the first year that we're supposed to have Paizo approval to run specials at cons.

Sorry about the thread necro:

What happens if you end up short a table?
Either due to player or Gm no shows etc?

Don't want to get people to put in time and effort then turn up to a bust because we pull short a table, that would suck.

This almost happened to us once, and the boss at the time said to play on. The answer may have been different if we had said we were going to be 4 tables short of the minimum 5, though...

Dotting for interest.

Good to know.

So miss one or two and its tea and sympathy, miss more than that and it's off to the beach. :p
